What happens to the vans in a trade hub if the trader leaves?  If I send my trader to a hub with a bunch of stuff to sell.  He sells what he can and he wants to move to another hub.  He can send the goods ahead but since he's not at the next hub the caravans will come back.  Then I can move the trader to the new hub, but what will the caravans do that were left behind?

Seems like you should be able to pack up and just move everything (trader, vans, goods) to a new hub (assuming you have enough vans to carry everything).

Yes, that makes more sense.

My question is sort of along these lines.  I have a Trader at a Hub across the map. I buy 2 orders and send vans from my main city to purchase those items. Can I move my Trader to another hub BEFORE the vans arrive with the money and pick up the goods or does he have to stay there until the transaction is done?

My trader went to the wrong hub, I missed a nearer + friendlier hub, so I'm now starting to figure out how a move works.

So far I tested to send vans from the hub to one of my towns, it is not their home town.  This worked as expected, goods delivered, vans automatically return to the hub.

Now I wonder if they would stay or at least offer to stay if I send them to their home town.  There's no trader there.  I dare not send more vans for the move, because I want them back at home soon, even without second trader in their home town.

Otherwise, if you don't need your vans back home soon, aren't traders always faster than vans?  You can send them to the next hub, immediately followed by the trader, who will arrive before the vans.Question

Traders always move at 21 AFAIK.
Caravans move at 20 + the level your marketplace

AFAIK, it's the opposite, caravans almost always move faster than traders.

Grrrh, then we'd need two traders for a simple move, or send stuff via a town from old to new hub.Shocked

Traders moving at 21 was a display bug. Now they move at 41.

I still have that display bug, last I checked.  Haven't checked the travel time.

Traders should move at 1 square faster than caravans from the same city.

Thanks, sorry to everyone for the misinformation.
