When i started playing i did alot of quest as it seemed fun and gave some res. but in a short time it became rather non importent and i havent done any for a long time now. But i figured that with the new trade resoures it could be good fun for all, big as small players, if something like this where implemented.
 
Make like 10 stage 1 quest which would have a certain number of the new normal resources as a random loot roll at the end of the quest.
 
Make like 10 stage 2 quest which would have a certain number of the new rare resources as a random loot roll at the end of the quest.
 
In this way all players would be able to get some of the new resources and you would have like a lotteri ticket princip each day that you log in. Should both be fun and rewarding and give like 1 rare something or 10 normal pr quest and then being mixed in with the old quest you wouldnt always get one each day.
 
Or something along this.

The lottery principle would definitely be a good change to quests. Right now they are boring, predictable and useless. Only those crazy rankers faithfully do them (they need to get a life right?)

As a lottery there would be  some excitement to them. Not necessarily with the rewards you mentioned, but something of the kind.

I would suggest a random reward table with small and very large rewards. Like a real lottery. Except the very large rewards would have a very tiny chance of happening.

I don't see any other way of making quests fun at this time. Not without a major overhaul noone has time for.

So, great suggestion!!


EDIT: 

Devs: Hint hint, the principle of gambling (just one more chance for a big reward...) might actually cause people to use prestige to reset quests even. If that's not a good business reason to implement something new what is...

I would love player designed quests.  Last I heard, the devs were working on a game mechanic allowing the lore team to more easily create new quests and implement them.  The devs went on to state that they would like to make this tool available for players if possible.  I think that would be bloody smashing.

I agree with Elanor's proposal. I think the Devs have looked at something similar before.

This thread looked very interesting - I was about to say my tuppence worth when I saw pretty much everything I was going to say had been said already.
 
 If anything is done with quests and those new resources they had better take a long time and with higher level taverns.  Let's camp out in this thread and wait for a DEV to say something.. :)
