I have a spot that has herbs, hides and animal parts. I know my Skinner will get the animal parts.
This spot started out with just herbs and I killed some animals on it. Prior to killing the animals, my Cotter harvested 100 herbs. What determines what my cotter will harvest when he returns to the spot?
I would prefer to see him gather all the hides and then send him back to only harvest 100 herbs so that they can keep growing back. I hope someone can answer this without my experimenting and wiping the spot out.

Good question -- I have no idea.

Cotters are simple minded folk and will only harvest what they start harvesting when they arrive at a square (which is reported back to you). They have an even chance of choosing from whatever type they can harvest on the square.

Skinners on the other hand will run through everything available that they can harvest (though only 1 per skinner); they do one group of items, then the next, until they are all full of the have emptied the square, as they run an efficient operation. They don't play favourites with type as they love working with all animal parts equally.

Thank you.
I guess I will send out a Cotter and see what he decides.

Thanks TC, good to know.  I suppose you could send one cotter and then another to bump if they choose the thing you don't want, in hopes the next group of cotters will like the other thing more.
