3K resources per caravan at lvl 20 :D
3000 x 40 = 120.000 caravan capacity per city at lvl 20 (with all the according trade skills)

By the way...
The upgrades to caravan capacity *do not* (currently) apply to caravans that are gathering resources from the map - these still only have a capacity of 200.
It's easy enough to apply this change to these caravans, but wouldn't mind some thoughts from you guys about this.
It would be natural to allow gathering Caravans to gather more, as they have increased capacity. However, the gathering speed (200 per hour) won't increase (until we bring in skills to do that as well).
This means that (for example) if there is sufficient resource on the square, a Juggernaut upgraded caravan will be there for 7 and a half hours, gathering.
I have no issue with this, but wonder if many of the players use "Hit and Run" caravan tactics, where you only send one out and you actually *want* it to be on its way back an hour later, rather than forcing it to be there for many hours...
Thoughts either way?
Best,

I think the new levels should also apply for gathering - but keep the 200 per hour gathering rate. You need to defend your juggernauts!

I agree with this as well. It would be weird to assume that you have a caravan in your town and if you send it on a trade mission it can hold 1500 resources, but if it goes out gathering it can only hold 200.
The loading speed should stay at 200/h - unless there are things to research down the road.
Thanks for this addition!

I concur with the concensus. In addition, players can always bump their own caravans so they at least bring home resources if not without losses.

After researching Improved Loading upgrade caravans are still loading resources at 200 capacity. BUG?

Maybe providing the ability to specify how much resources you want to gather will be useful. For example, if I send a caravan 3h away, I want it to gather at full capacity 600 as I want to save on the journey time if I am to come to the same location for the same resource.
However, if a resource is 5m away, I may be willing to bring it as quickly as possible so that I can use it immediately.

Caravan Capacity increase via the new skills have been applied to gathering caravans - from this point onwards, ie newly dispatched caravans only.
If you still wish to limit the amount of time a caravan is actually gathering (and vulnerable if unprotected), send another caravan to the same location an hour later. This will bump your existing caravan off the square, and replace it with the new caravan.

Would be good if I can interrupt the caravan without sending another caravan. The same way I have a "View In Map"button, we can have a "Send Back" button.
In addition, would be good to be able to see what resource is being harvested, the same way we can see what is being carried back.

Hi gigi,
Nice ideas - but really belong in the http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/suggestions-game-enhancements_forum16.html - Suggestions & Enhancements forum rather than here.
Also, on the "bringing back caravans" side, there's an item on the http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/current-dev-list_topic98.html - Current Dev List that covers this:
MESSENGER DIPLOMATIC UNIT
- To carry new orders to units
(Armies, Caravans) that are abroad.
We don't want instant communication with units abroad, as this provides far too limited opportunities for ambushes etc. So a fast-moving Messenger unit seems to fit the bill quite nicely.
Best wishes

I also don't like the idea of having to bump my caravan to bring them back home. I like to receive the resources as often as possible. Besides, I'd have to send a same capacity caravan away, so I'd be stuck with the same problem over and over again (send a bumping caravan to bump my previously bumping caravan). This'll drive me crazy.
It would be nice if we could have caravans of different capacity in the village. By exemple, the caravan that has been built at Market lvl 1 would always stay 200, at lvl 2: 300, and so on.. but that might be a little complicated for now.
For now, I'll just stick to 300 capacity caravan, as I carry books and weapons most of the time.
By the way, has anyone noticed my brand new books and weapons' store on the trade market?? I have everything you need: books, spears, swords, armors, horses and even bier for those of you who are thirsty. So bring your high capacity (full of resources) caravans, everybody, and welcome to my store. *ok, enough publicity*
