There will be the potential for a short server downtime this Saturday, Jun 2 from 2-3 AM, EST (6-7 AM Server Time). This has the potential to affect the game server, but not the website or forums.

Note from our host:

We will be performing a critical software update to our Core 2 TPA tonight starting at 2am.  This update will further improve our routing performance.   To complete this update we are required to reboot this switch which will cause a portion of our network to experience downtime.    We anticipate this process taking no longer than 15 minutes and once complete the network will be back to normal.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and the short notice of this maintenance.

I think the downtime is related to the host server rather than Illyriad, but I'm not that expert in the area.

External network, not servers.

My point was that people shouldn't be hoping for an update, because this isn't one.

We just got an update.  Strat map works and now I can see new TLR/TLR2 cities, thank you.

Seems that the dreaded  No OpenID endpoint found is back with 'Google Account' sign in intermittently again. Is this likely to be cleared with your update GM ThunderCat?

For a mobile broadband plan with 5 GB monthly -- used up days before the end of the month, of course -- where any additional bandwidth is reduced to modem speed, yesterday was the worst day ever in Illy for me (since December):

Loading everything Illy from scratch (after clearing the browser cache, stupid idea on my side) took hours with dozens of re-logins, when the event handler script only managed to start the spinning wheel to indicate "waiting", but never got what it waited for.  My ISP decided that June 1st still belongs to May in their bandwidth calculations.  A network update on Illy's side should help, it is bad enough when my side drops the packets.  Today, at normal mobile broadband speed again for the next 5 GB, all is fine.

I didn't mean to imply that this was somehow not a good thing; I was trying to prevent the inevitable cry of "where are the new features" that happens when people say "update."  Silly me.

GM SC -- I think we all are hoping that this downtime will make the game experience better. If this work you need to do helps the community with our game experience, I will consider that an upgrade and be happy for it! Good luck during the dark time!
