You can post more than one poem/song/haiku, as long as it is all in one reply. It will count as one entry.

Can we do it about a person in Illy ( Not ourselves )?
For example, you Luna, or Rill or Stormcrow...

Man will rise, man will fall, they are the keepers of animals all,
Elves will jump, Elves will fly, Elves will fight until they die,
Dwarves will run, then they'll wheeze, their beards are big- unhandy for a sneeze,
Orcs will fight, then run away, but they'll be there for another day.

Composed by GsoG

Another:

Luna means crazy,
Or not in this case,
Her hair is blond or black, but it seems to be wavy,
She is a wonder because of her face.
She rivals Helen of Troy,
She looks like a baby's toy.

Composed by GsoG

Rill is quick, Rill is speedy, she gives resources to the needy, She feels the need to help, those baby young whelps, those baby young whelps were once you and me, and her daily care packages are usually free!

Composed by GsoG

That's all! Thanks!

Decided to give a haiku-styled poem a go. I hated English class.
Here's what I have so far:

A solemn crow caws.
Gathered, a crowd and their king.
Red is all they see.

Here lies history,
upon cobbles he lay bare.
This day, a king dies.

Knight, noble, and serf,
their bared fangs blur lineage.
'Blood for blood' their law.

Ordered chaos comes.
A kingdom without a king,
no head for mercy.

A black song is sung,
borne on the wings of a crow.
The marches begin.

Sweet soothing calmness,
a silence steeped in thunder.
War has come again.

I'll try to reference Illyriad more. -.-
Maybe I'll write more after I've had more coffee... or maybe not...

My haikus, for what they're worth Smile

Fair Illyriad

Thy lands and seas a haven

for myriad folk.

Orcs were first; hillfolk,

fighting and drinking the blood

of all other  tribes.

A host of humans

built cities and great castles.

Fighting where needed.

Dwarves, are the third race.

Great craftsmen in iron and stone

built beauty and strength.

Last the starchildren,

Arcane elves of wood and dale

in sad search of love.

This is our fair land.

Where quests for wisdom, honour

and glory abound.

There once was an orc from Nantucket,
who's spear poked a hole in a bucket,
as the water poured down,
he held firmly around,
and decided that he'd like to drink it.

Only by the lusting of the Gods, only by the will of the Creators
(The First Father-The First Mother)
We are free to worship, free to sacrifice

We have lived long
We have seen much
But only in the Dance of Death will we know all that is knowable
Only in the Dance of Death will we live forever
Side by side with the Jaguar

--------------------------------------------------------------
THE ORC LORDS' PREY PRAYER

Mighty Wyldfyr
Spark of Bonfyr
Hollowed be thy name
In War hard won
Thy will be done
In pestilence and in pain
By the fridged, dark before
Into the piercing light of War
Let our enemies blood rain
Give us this day our daily dead
Forgive us our non-aggression
Deliver us unto battle
For Thine is the Ax
And the Sword
And the Spear
Forever and ever
Amen

This is a poem about war in Illy:

The Enemy Catapults

Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,

Boom, Boom, Boom,

Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,

Boom, Boom, Boom

Here is one about war and how horrid it is:

Untitled

Hear the words I sing,

War's a horrid thing,

So I sing sing sing...ding-a-ling-a-ling.

Thank you  :D

Prologue

Many have walked my path,

And many to come will to,

A monk of the Order of Philellis,

Holders of knowledge and learning,

Forbidden to live a life of finance,

War, lust, or dwellings,

We must live alone,

Within our own abbis's or on the road.

Part I

I sit here in my dark damp cell,

A monk in my lowest order,

I write some wonderings life,

Here, within this,

My final charter,

I set fourth,

A boy,

fourteen in age,

From my dear Abbey Park,

My life in whole ahead,

What adventures I should encounter?

I was so unsure,

Sandals upon my feet,

A robe upon my back,

No possessions should I carry,

Except for book et quill,

Gold have I,

All of 20 pieces,

For I was to live and live,

From land and sea,

To learn was my quest,

Knowledge was my bread,

Across the lands of Illyria,

I was to travel,

My lessons to record,

My book set,

My houses,

Hedgerows,

My castles,

Trees,

My moats,

Ditches,

My horse,

Of shank's,

Through woods,

Through desert

From Norweld,

I drifted,

Wolcast,

Fyrgis,

I stayed at Lostwithiel,

A faction hub,

My feet,

They hurt,

Throngs of pain,

Fly through muscles,

So to an inn,

I fletch my back upon a bed,

And soak my body in bath of red,

Rose water and lavender,

Relief of pain,

Alas,

Onwards I must travel,

More lessons must I heed,

More people I must meet,

And maps must I scratch,

Part II

Four years have past since my adventures begin,

Through empires and territories I travel,

Elf,

Dwarf,

And Orcs,

All I have met,

Most of kind origin,

Some,

Less so,

Bruises and cuts,

Scratches and gashes,

My determination draining,

Day by day,

Finally collapse did I,

And sleep,

For days upon days,

I dream,

Infected wounds,

That septisisum,

Gunk, green as thee like,

Seeping from my back,

I awoke,

Empty room,

Nothing less a bed of straw,

A bowel of water,

A window with sunbeams flowing through,

First beams of new sun,

Flood upon the wall,

I sit,

Swing my legs around,

I feel a course grinding,

My back has a trickle,

My fingers they probe,

Blood,

Moss,

I rise to the window,

City of beauty,

Sun lighting upon eastern side,

A knock,

A brother,

Surprise,

My order,

We drink,

And talk,

His story he tells,

A life like mine,

Within him,

It dwells,

He fix's me back,

To life I raise,

To the abis,

I go,

The abbot,

He knows of my strife,

And soon sets me straight,

Back on the road,

My feet are now set,

Part III

An old man,

I now approach,

Cities of Camelot do I seek,

By chance,

Half blind,

I stray unto Tolsby,

Direction have i lost,

An inn I find,

An audience gathers,

I heed my story unto them,

They raise their drinks up to I,

Before nights end,

My tales are relayed to the castle.

Asleep in a barn,

I am tussled by guards,

The take me to the keeps castle,

The minister,

A woman,

She listens to my plights,

Upon a cart I find myself,

Leaving as the clock strikes XI,

The spring breeze,

It sweeps my hair,

For five or six hour we travel,

By night,

I am in a straw pit,

In my own Abis,

My abbot,

Happy with my accomplishment,

So here in my cell,

I settle,

To end my days,

Amongst the gardens,

And monks,

And bells,

Epilogue

So here,

I sit,

My candle burning,

Nearly low,

The darkness closing around me,

It will soon be time to take my pit,

And take my last breaths,

My year’s catalogued,

In Avalon’s library,

My legacy,

My order.

Love is a warm light in your hands
Looks like a flower ,feels like rain

Love is a weight in your chest
It brakes your heart and makes you afraid

You hold it close ,you never let go
it makes you complete and feels like home

There once was an orc from tor carrock
who lived atop a mighty beanstalk
when jack climbed up
he filled his cup,
and demanded he leave his flock.

To do something truly unique for Illy and not just a fantasy
setting my poem is about Illy's specific geography

its long im sorry but stay with me XD

A Frightening corner in the edge of the map,
The Wastes sit devoid of life and flat.

Kal Tirikan its neighbor both mountains and plains,
but a wild land not yet quite tamed.

Harsh winder winds from the lands of Wolfcast,
Make stalwart soldiers grip cloaks held to fast.

Higher yet are the mountains of Ursor,
Blood reavers home pray not your pursuer.

Again a corner the lands of Qarosslan,
To inhabit the ice the blood of a hard man.

Down for Tamarin a land that cant decide,
for mountains or forests stand tall or hide.

To Laoshin now mostly elfish domain,
the forests are thick filled with their game.

Mal Motsha lies west a land more wild,
mothers tell stories to frighten their child.

Below is Keshalia jungle holding its heart,
a brood-some place where death does part.

The sands of Kul Tar blow fast and quick,
heat makes water on the eyes but a trick.

The rainforest so proud in the folds of Elijal,
strange guardians stand on a lonesome vigil.

Djebeli now sits a sprawling jungle but there's sand,
situated in the east with none to lend a hand.

Larn the bottom a place of ill repute and name,
murders and thieves to them life is a game.

Kem and Trome islands not together but a pair,
water loving nations and the sights bring a tear.

Now Tallimar so long stretched out like a cloud,
with its city of temples they draw quite a crowd.

Farra Isle alone and best thought forgotten,
because the harpies live here beings so rotten.

Azura above with the golden glow of its throne,
but a savage land made of not soil but stone.

The forest of Arran so dense and tight knit,
but men cut it down with hard labor and grit.

Small hills in Turalia but light forest as well,
a peaceful lot of elf's here do they dwell.

Plains and forest hills with sand dotted near,
the lands of Zanpur strange but no need for fear.

Perrigor sits with a border connected to all,
the circle of five waits in their ancient hall.

Lucerna to pass through between center and east,
but not to be missed for they hold many a feast.

And Ragallon a land sounding so strong and bold,
the mountains they claim are inhabited by trolls.

Windlost now as we turn up and towards the west,
passing through the forest filled with a buzzing pest.

West further again through the lands of Norweld,
a huge mountain range in its center is held.

Meilla now nearing the end of our journey,
Quick we must but not slowed by their tourney.

Freemorn now the other side of this large land,
from the top to the bottom mountains make a stand.

Through the western realms quickly so aptly named,
passing the lords of the west renowned for their fame.

Kumala stretches to the last corner of the map,
but be weary of the Melders so don't take a nap.

Lan Larosh it seems is loved by quite a few
but be careful least you end up in Orc stew.

The strange mountain range in Keppen with the tinkers,
but they fit rather well and are wondrous thinkers.

The where the Dwarves reside Tor Carrock there home
the bear they brew loved and hated for its foam.

And at last we made it to the Middle Kingdom,
the center of the map and also the noob ring.

Hope you all enjoyed your tour!

This song is better read after listening to "Carry On" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

"Settle On"

One morning I woke up and I knew the time was come.
A new game, a new town, I knew I should see it along.
Play your way, I'll play mine and settle on.

The map is clearing and the ranger has gone out.
The report, it comes, the world is all full of dogs.
Rejoice, rejoice, we have no choice but to fight on.

The chatters of global are able to help you along.
Now witness the quickness with which we hug along.
To chat with all you've got to bear the troll and carry on.

Carry on, Luna is coming, Luna is coming to us all.

Where are you going now my dev? Where will you be tomorrow?
Will you bring me happiness? Will you bring me sorrow?
Oh, the questions of a thousand dreams, what you do and what you see,
Coder, can you talk to me?

Wildlife, when I was on my own, chasing you down,
What was it made you run, trying your best just to get around?
The questions of a thousand dreams, what you do and what you see,
Coder, can you talk to me?

A Gamers search.

I move with ease, as is my nature.

Through time and place, seeking out.

That which pleases and attracts me.

Draws me onward, searching still.

One day I sensed a thriving gathering.

Glowing, shining in the gloom.

Something of value, worth and glory.

And thus I found you, Illyriad land.

I shall stay a long time with you.

Building, planning, fighting maybe.

Posting, chatting or just growing.

Happy in your company.

Unfortunate Undertakings

The soul of a demon, if one has such a thing, is a vile, sorted, nasty little thing.  Within this pit looms a lost soul, empty of love and without a home. The path ahead is long and twisted with a barbed end that is totally infested, with the hate that is grown from ages past, memories of fond things that have since long passed. We walk this path with a lowered brow, dragging our feet, with no morale, longing for the day that will never come, the day of strife when we will be done. Free from the bond that holds us still, all in all just another cog in the wheel. The path we walk is our own making, just one of many unfortunate undertakings.   CC Donald C

Roses are red,
armies are too,
but only when I
send them at you.

Roses are red,
A bright glossy sheen,
Sending armies at you,
would surely be mean.

Roses are red,
Looming huge to small ants,
My armies have killed
legions of elephants.

Roses are red,
Harmless? is not,
thank god for that,
I'd lose if we fought.

Roses are red,
ryelle is cool,
if a newb disagreed,
I would think them a fool.

Roses are red,
the GMs are blue,
they fear only lawyers,
well, and teacups too.

Roses are red,
trolls are obscene,
they should be cleaned off,
in my washing machine.

Roses are red,
prestige makes you wise,
perhaps if I win,
I'll get some as a prize.

Roses are red,
I'm sure you're impressed,
by my poetry skills,
for they are the best.

/me takes a bow.

In this beautiful land we did meet,
Liege-Lords and Ladies took their seat.
Love and war was made by many,
Yet all returned in good company.
Resources run low, GC harken the call,
In these shackles we all doth fall.
And as the second age of Illy comes to past,
Dwarves, humans, elves and orks I wish peace ever-last.

                   Death By An Elf

Swift and brutal..
Dead before you know it.
Battered and broken...
And sliced into bits.

That's if you're lucky...
To be dealt with fast.
You could be tortured slowly...
Leaving death far from last.

No rules for the Elvens..
We're one of a kind.
Such pure evil in character...
So direct in our minds.

So remember the chaos..
Of cites full of elves'
For we are collectors..
Of all strange wealth.

Satanic Eternity awaits for the souls....
That my superior Dark Elves have torn out and hold.

Song of Sigurd

 by Elevana Starlight

 ***

A man once looked around him,

And fell in love with fair Elgea.

‘I love you Elgea,’ he shouted,

‘For you are fierce, sweet, steady and bright.’

*

Four there were who heard this man’s cry,

And grew jealous of the man’s love.

The first fell upon him in fury,

Swift and strong as a storm of fire.

Grabbing the man together they ran,

‘I am fiercer than your Elgea!’

The first did shout, a passionate cry,

Like fire raging through the night.

But the man saw the land’s flaming spires,

And the first was fierce, but not like these.

‘Nay, I love Elgea!’ he said,

‘For she is fierce, sweet, steady and bright.’

*

The first was angered

and would have consumed him.

But soothing song lulled them,

And the second took him, like a lullaby.

Holding the man the second did sing,

‘I am sweeter than your Elgea,’

And enchantment the second weaved,

Subtle and sweet as moonlit night.

But the man still heard the ocean in his ears,

And the second was sweet, but not as the sea breeze.

‘Nay, I love Elgea,’ he said,

‘For she is fierce, sweet, steady and bright.’

*

The second was sorrowed,

And tears would have drowned him.

But the third succored him,

And secured him above the flood.

With a firm hand, the third told him,

‘I am steadier than your Elgea,’

And so the third showed him the security,

Of forge and home’s resolve and might.

But from here the man saw the rolling mountains,

And the third was steady, but not like these.

‘Nay, I love Elgea!’ he said,

‘She is fierce, sweet, steady and bright.’

*

Now the third, once angered had a fury,

That would have buried him like a landslide.

But the fourth did conspire to rescue him,

Bold and daring, like a gust of wind.

Riding with the man, the fourth did cry,

‘I am brighter than your Elgea,’

And  the fourth showed him the land tamed,

Mastery of the fields of wheat so bright.

But beyond the man saw the vast wilds,

And the fourth was bright, but not as the sun over rolling plain,

‘Nay, I love Elgea!’ he said,

‘She is fierce, sweet, steady and bright.’

*

And to the dismay of the four,

The man took Elgea above them all.

And as they beheld the man’s love for the land - as one they said,

‘Their love is fierce, sweet, steady and bright.’

There is a game known as Illy,

whose community could be quite silly.

They would strut and debate and pontificate,

turning a war game into simcity.

The hug-pile

A mountain of body-parts in the center of the room,

all entangled and happily alive.

There an arm embraces a head,

and there a hand tickles a red fluffy beard.

And look, two legs entwined,

different length, and different trousers.

A mountain of body-parts in the center of the room,

all wriggling and full of sound.

Somewhere a high giggle erupts,

followed by a booming guffaw.

And listen, two bodies down,

different voices, and different laughs.

A mountain of body-parts in the center of the room,

all cuddling and creating warmth.

At the top a face smiles down,

on another, looking up in joy.

And see, two caressing elves,

different passion, and different 'hugs'

And hopping from one spot to the other,

giving little nibbles every now and then,

a striped little kitten joins in the snugglyness,

bouncing happily as to make Tigger jealous.

Nothing like a good hug-pile.

I don't like hugs.
The thing that really bugs
me is the way that
they spam up general chat.

No more hugs say I.
Most people I know won't deny
that we do often tire
of hugs of which we have no desire.

syllables ought be 5-7-5 right?

Veiled hatred of thyne
beneath a banner of white
behind the walls of mine
I can only awe your might

The rumble of wheels
the siege has begun
All we have is our shields
was this the long run

A rumbling dust of a pile
is all that remains
I should have built on an isle
and not on these plains

Now all I have is regret
of a thing minor somewhat
That no sightings of yet

Traditional Haiku is indeed of the 5-7-5 on (like syllables) form, but not all Haiku is.
For the record though, I've been counting too! =P

As an Orc, poetry does not come naturally. So, to enter this contest, I had to embark upon a creative process which could be describes as, well, tortuous, maybe even painful. The process, however, yielded a poem which is uniquely reflective of the creative process without becomingintrospective, and begs the post-structuralist question of "who is the author anyway?"

[Spreads feet apart and thrusts hips forward in dramatic ac-tor stylee, and begins to orate...]

...

The once was a very big Orc
Who was stabbing an Elf with a fork,
Shouting “write a poem that rhymes
Cos I don't have time,
So do it, you wimp - ****ing talk!”

The Elf he replied as he cried,
“Violence will only yield lies,
But poems, true art,
Can't be some warlord's tart
To be won as a torturer's prize!”

The Orc, he would not be put off,
Shouting “Cut the excuses you toff,
You've been to pricey schools
Been taught by posh fools,
So write poems, or I'll pull your ***** off!”

But the Elf groaned as he expired,
“My head swims, I'm feeling so tired.
That spike in my rear
Brings unconsciousness near.
Do I now smell my own funeral pyre?”

The Orc he shouted with glee,
“Well, that'll do it for me!
Those lines there rhyme,
Most of the time.
Now, grilled Elven kebabs for my tea!”

The Pathfinder

A pathfinder arrives upon the sand
The ways ahead are many
Which way to take? Which road to tread?
Which path fulfills your destiny?

King Sigurd rules Illyria
Statues of his ancestors testify
A quest you have to find them all
To preserve his dynastic line

Much gold you may acquire by trade
A guild is yours to build
A master of merchants you may become
Or a pauper who squandered and failed

Beware the path of the warrior
Who lacks diplomacy veil
For the overmighty may falter
Where honeyed words prevail

A thief, A mage, A pirate king
All these paths and more
Await the pathfinder who stands alone
On Illyra's mystic shore

On being a Scrib

I focus on my quill, which expresses my knowledge to parchment. It is safe, here, in my hand.

I focus on my parchment, upon which I write my valuable research. It is safe, here, on my desk.

I focus at my desk, which so sturdily supports my works. It is safe, here, in my chamber.

I focus in my chamber, which so comfortingly affords me privacy. It is safe, here, in The Tower.

I focus within The Tower, its bound stonework gives me security. It is safe, here, in the City.

I focus in my City, its walls under siege from trebuchet fire. It still feels safe, here, in Elgea.

I focus on the Trebuchet, its piercing red eye sending me discomfort. My walls, here, feel thin.

The eye grows bigger, a threatening heat. I no longer f

I wrote this a while ago so people in nCrow will have already read it:

I am but a humble crow,
Not the prettiest bird - I know.
I lack in strength, my song is not sweet
And yet a crow you're lucky to meet.
We value intellect, our wings fly true,
We uphold our values and respect other's view
And while we may not be the best,
We stand united in our nest.

~Auraya

Not the longest or deepest of poems but it's actually one of my personal favourites so I hope you enjoy :)

Illy Illy Illy
I bet it is silly
Been playing and in intense pain
My cavalry got lost n vain
Who sent them in?
Little commander Thin
The jungle ate them all
You dumbo, you definitely had to fall

Illy Illy Illy
You bet it is silly
Them changed the maps, them dug out walkie skeletors all around
Glowing stones and all that crap
My hard-earned gold went in to the trap
Them skeletors ate my army all
And then I had another fall
Yeah, them gave me commander points
I had pain in my joints
Sitting whole day playing Illy
Hunting them meatless morons
My Gf started calling me Stupid Silly
You bet i looked like one rilly
Eye bags and what not!
Ewww Illy! NOT AGAIN!

And then I got this alt
God promise, it's not my fault
Named him Crazy
As i felt like one
Ten cities! and i started with none...

River Sovs by Jane Darkmagic

Water sovs announced!  How nice!
Exodused a city, thrice!
My orcs will love the fish,
stringy elves no longer only dish!
Alas, they do not come alive!
My cities' food supplies dive.
I keep hearing the same old tune...
"We will fix this problem soon(tm)!"

These lyrics are meant to be sung to the tune of the old folk song, "Leatherwing bat". In particular, I have the version sung by Peter Paul and Mary in mind, since that's the version I grew up listening to. If you've never heard it, I found it http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/leatherwing-bat" rel="nofollow - here  (the third one).

---

"Ho!" said the stout dwarf, hammer in hand,
"I must confess, this mountain land
Though rich in stone and crisp of air--
I might prefer a forest square."

Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae--
Ay le lee-lee lie-lee low.

"Hum!" sang the wild elf, laughing in the trees,
"While speed and spells do not displease
I will complain that fletcher's pride--
Would best be loosed from mountainside."

Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae--
Ay le lee-lee lie-lee low.

"Hur!" spat the vile orc, squatting in the mud,
"My spear thirsts for the taste of blood!
But truth be told, I'd settle for--
Anything but the saboteur!"

Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae--
Ay le lee-lee lie-lee low.

"Hark!" called the young man, saddling his mount,
"I can't say I have many troubles to recount
Since farming tiles all lie on plains--
And that's just where a true knight reigns."

Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae--
Ay le lee-lee lie-lee low.

"Hush!" spoke the dev team, popping into view,
"We can't please each with all we do
"And must stay true to our own tune--
"Everything else is coming soon™!"

Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae;
Howdy dowdy diddle-dum dae--
Ay le lee-lee lie-lee low.

A silly poem now. I hope it isn't too long.

Dear Mama (in poem format),

Gold does nothing nowadays!

I'm writing from outside the consulate,

whose owner kicked me out just now.

And before that, the blacksmith,

right across the street, did the same.

As did the carpenter,

the magi,

the fletcher,

the mason,

the miner,

the farmer

and even the cat!

The big city is harsh,

no retry, no mercy, no refund,

and a clear nepotism towards apprenticeship.

My total spending comes to 150 pieces of gold.

Three to the farmer,

four to the miner,

five to the mason,

six to the fletcher,

seven to the magi,

eight to the carpenter,

nine to the blacksmith,

ten to the diplomat,

and from passing by the city dumpster,

98 pieces to a bandit cat,

which scratched my face and took my purse!

So here I sit with nothing in my name,

except for the clothes on my back.

And, after thinking about it for a long time, I have decided!

I'm going to join a circus,

get famous, get rich, and all that.

Then, one day, while roaming Illyriad,

after mastering how to be a clown,

I will come back home,

to you, pa, and everyone else,

and finally deliver you this letter.

The Legend of Kilotov Beer

The Dwarves are a curious race,
Short and stout, always bearded of face,
They love gems, gold and stone,
And if with them alone,
Never mention 'shortcomings' or grace.

O there once was a short hairy guy
who a certain ranger tried to make fly
he picked him up and tossed
and the dwarf made it across
but the elf must not know - keep it sly.

This Dwarf who was quick with his whacks
Didn't pause when a-swinging his axe
All the heads of the orcs
Went a-popping like corks
As he kept a good tally, ex-zacts.

O there once was a dwarf with an appetite

Who had a great axe and could chuck it
He said with a smile
As he tossed it a mile
When we get there you'll find Orcs in a bucket! Wink

I MET A LITTLE ELFMAN ONCE,
DOWN WHERE THE LILIES BLOW.
I ASKED HIM WHY HE WAS SO SMALL,
AND WHY HE DIDN'T GROW.

HE SLIGHTLY FROWNED, AND WITH HIS EYE
HE LOOKED ME THROUGH AND THROUGH -
" I'M JUST AS BIG FOR ME," SAID HE,
" AS YOU ARE BIG FOR YOU!" :)

Whose players were really quite silly
They would wait on releases,
and then fall to pieces,
for they came not before Hell was chilly

A sonet in the Shakespearian style, as if Mehra Metu wrote it to his love, Victoria Lannigold.

The lion roars and shakes his mighty mane,
and all the world does tremble where he treads.
A lioness as proudly set to reign
thy golden hair as glowing golden threads.

A rose that live among the sharpest thorns
will still have petals of the softest kind,
and lion's mane the flower now adorns
'til lioness the rose a home do find.

But how can I the sweetest rose so take,
from home and life and lion oh so strong,
yet thee I love so much, my heart do quake,
my soul to thee now truly do belong.

So thorny rose from lions home do move
and I do hope my father does approve.

(From the year 834) This excerpt was recently discovered among the chief librarian’s archives at Port Tal in an ancient book titled “Secrets of the Lost: An Anthology.”  The original account was taken from Quixpan’s personal journal and was transcribed by the Order of Allembine to ensure accuracy.
Authenticity has not yet been verified.

“Quixpan Wavechaser’s Final Voyage”

Upon the great north wind, my anchorite ship doth sail.
The ocean beckons me with salty breeze and gale.

I hear the sirens’ song, with melody so fair,
Its tune enchanteth me; I sail, not knowing where.

The briny deep doth move.  The shore bids us farewell.
Demersae turn in fear as raging tempests swell.

Small waves begin to stir and clouds bow down to see
As darkness veils my eyes...mesmerizing me.

Beyond the lonely isle of Tenaril’s sullen keep,
Euphonic arias beguile, enticing me to sleep.

Demonic forces speed this journey towards the west;
Beyond the coral reef where harpies make their nest.

Above the jagged cliffs, a screech doth break the song
These wicked sirens sang all this while long.

Coldness fills my body; down my spine, a chill.
My wits at once return...but screams grow louder still.

Awakened from this daze, we hastily change our course.
Alas, it is too late.  We strike the reef with force.

Horrific beasts descend; their shrieking has increased.
They prey upon the men.  I behold the gruesome feast.

Now in the air we hear another song of old.
It soars upon the wind.  Great power, it doth hold.

This is the song of dragons...of merchants and of kings.
The song conceals the ship from all these monstrous beings.

The reef gives up its claim over this poor battered ship.
We sail towards the north to cease from our long trip.

A stillness shrouds our lives, we struggle with the pain.
We rest here at Port Tal; us few who now remain.

Can we carry on?  This pang becomes a crutch.
At dawn, we will set sail...these men who lost so much,

There is a winding river.  It will take this ship afar.
I chart for us a course just north of Tallimar;

I give you these instructions as well as an account
Of what events transpired...from what I can recount.

My journey takes me back, across the treacherous sea.
The siren’s song still sings within my memory.

It beckons me to find a place of utter bliss.
My senses tell me no...but by mind cannot resist.

The song sings ever on, and so I will set sail.
I leave you this account knowing my journey will fail.

My only hope right now, is to join those departed friends,
I expect to see them soon...when at last the siren’s song ends.

To be in Illy or not to be:
That is the question

In the beginning, Illy was quite entertaining
An exciting world of building and conquering
But for a few weeks now I have been wondering
Should I continue playing Illy?

It's now taking days to build my buildings
And my real life is getting quite challenging
To which I cannot help but think,
Should I continue playing Illy?

One morning as I was contemplating
In the global chat, players were discussing,
"What do I do to grow fast?" asks a newbie;
To which a veteran answered this:

"Here in Illy everyone plays at their own pace
It is a game where patience pays.
If you need help just give us a shout
You can be sure that one of us will help out."

With a community that gives so much support
I've decided to be in Illy and not to abort
I know I have chosen a long road to travel
But in the end, I think I won't be in frazzle.

Here gos, I fly form thy sky gazing at the depth of thy eyes and thy fact is clear thy path is what thy make but all was never thy worst foe is not thy foe but they self for if thy dies then it is thee fault for not thinking threw thy goal i fly past thy eye only to tell thy dark eyed one that thy greatest gift is the gift of life and as you say "How is thy think life is so full of life when thy life's be so full of work?" And i fly towards they trouble soul and say "Thy life may have trouble but thee must see in thy world that there is no place other then earth, With thy beauty and wonderland of thy peace full woods to thy misty mountains to wait for thy to see thy shinny light key of thy life is adventure and romance , And love is worth all thy life to live thy "Good moments". As i bid thee goodbye so sorely did my spirit cry to say thy last words with my dieing breath saying goodbye, And i fell down even as a man falls dead.                                                                                                                                                                                     Okay my next one is , title: the saying of a leader, I say to thee that thy know of thee that there be many saying. But to know what saying is true and false! Is other question. Just as thee sayings of what is thy best plan of action to lead thy men. And thy world and methods all was change as well as thy, Working environment. Any leader knows this weather thy be a general of war or a business man or a king. And as thy business men say time is money, And thy time should be spent wisely!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 I have a lot more but i am not in the mood to put down 100 inside my head in one day.
