When i started playing Illyriad, i noticed that members of the community used terms in ways which i was unfamiliar with. one of the most common terms i have seen in Global Chat (GC) was referring to a Troll. i quickly learned that they weren't referring to a creature which lived under bridges (though i am sure many wish they would). i apologize if a definition of trolls has been posted elsewhere but i was unable to find it, so i will post one here.

the following is an excerpt from the Wiki Article on Troll (internet):

In  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_slang" rel="nofollow - Internet slang , a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29#cite_note-1" rel="nofollow - [2]   http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/extraneous#Adjective" rel="nofollow - extraneous , or  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Off-topic" rel="nofollow - off-topic  messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotion" rel="nofollow - emotional  response http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29#cite_note-PCMAG_def-2" rel="nofollow - [3]  or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29#cite_note-IUKB_def-3" rel="nofollow - [4]  The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."

It's also used to dis-credit someone, an opinion you don't like? the one who spoke it is obviously a troll and so on.

The definition of a Troll though is subjective.

A troll is someone who will whisper random numbers into your ears while you are trying to count the number of something

How many manies in a myriad?  I've had scouts starve to death trying to answer that question.

Sounds like an answer a troll would give.

From official Illyriad race descriptions:

Orcs

Fierce, strong and brave in numbers, Orcs excel in waging an offensive playstyle by using their Goblin, Kobold and Troll minions to wreak havoc across the land.

As you can see, we control trolls... to bad those trolls are just visible in GC...
