When this UI was launched there was a promise of getting rid of so many mails from the system because we have a Notification area that is there. It has been over a year since the UI launched and we still have both, the Notification section, which we can't get rid of, and the mails. Are we never getting rid of the mails now? If not, can you at least put a filter on them so they go under their sections so we can check those sections if we want and stop cluttering up the in box with everything all in one place?
Forwarding mail also has never worked right yet it has never been fixed. Is that ever going to be fixed or are we just supposed to deal with the awful mail system that doesn't work efficiently and dig thru mails that we either shouldn't see or should already be filtered by now? I find it disappointing that you find time to change things that aren't broken (ie Alliance Listing) but don't work on things that were promised to be fixed a year ago.
Venting portion: Removed due to it being acknowledged.
Thank you for reading. LadyLuvs

+1
I will state why I gave this a plus, I recall being able to see anything other then people getting silenced in GC for the majority of time I was online *a few hours*. It was tiresome but people were being childish with it, seems a tad hypocritical now that i think about it to allow spamming one day and refuse it 364 others.

Personally, I thought it was funny, a great joke, and intended in all good humour. We all make jokes about the snuggles and huggles going on in GC in AC, and find it cutely juvenile.
Congrats to GM's for making us laugh :))

I'll pass this along to the team and we'll take a look at addressing the issue with system messages.
As to the April 1 chat filter, it was a one-off joke. I'm sorry to anyone who was inconvenienced or bothered by it. You have my sincere apologies. We won't do it again.

(~_~) I agree that a lot of people were banned (for a few minutes) and that led to a lot of GC messages about it - but I thought it was hella funny. (^_^)
I still wish there was a report of who the top 5 banned were. (:P)
To everyone that was adversely affected by it . . . It was, after all, only one day... (>.<)

I also thought it was funny, although it would have been just as funny if people had used a little more restraint in how often they did it. But that is not Luna's fault.

Oh, and valid point on the in game messages. It would be nice to have a filter for which ones go over into the junk box .

I can deal with system spams in mails and all that (I get 40+ messages in 10 hours just from trade). I can do with the alliance forums that are no good. I can do with any inconvenience that has a workaround.
But what I really find lacking is the ability to send mails to multiple players and "reply all" ..to create a mail thread for discussions.
I thought the <de-snuggled> chat was funny. The ban was only for 2 minutes - it was not like any player could spam more than one post in two minutes! And the UI V3 blog post gave me a shock! It was one day where GM Luna looked all-so-serious!

I admit, I thought it was funny. It was the ONE TIME I have ever been banned, and like the ONLY time I will be banned. Granted, it'd have been better if folks limited themselves to ONE banning-per-person, but, well... yesh, it's one day out of the year.

I didn't mind the April 1st *snuggle* joke thing - I thought it was kinda amusing, even tried it myself one time. (Actually I thought it was pretty much the ONLY time I've ever seen the word *snuggle* on GC in an amusing context.)
And to be honest I have GC turned off most of the time these days anyways - we already know that better chat systems are coming and SC/TC have already been the first to admit that GC just gets a bit too clogged up now Illy has grown. Frankly I don't think the joke really caused any problem that wasn't already there.
And regarding the main points from your post LL - you have my total 100% support.
The in-game mail system - when I click on the link I always just click on the 'player' tab immediately afterwards - the only other tab I ever use is the 'military' one to check combat reports, and obviously I don't get new combat reports every day (since I no longer bother farming NPCs). All the other mail I get, sometimes hundreds of messages a day, go by totally ignored. I don't ever remember a time when my inbox did not have a green 99+ and a blue 99+ above it.
I have never ever needed to look at or use the notifications panel. I'd rather it wasn't there and I had more room for the chat panels.
And yes, making forwarding work and multiple recipient IGMs (that aren't to the entire alliance) would be greatly appreciated improvements for a relatively small amount of dev work.

I generally pop my chat windows out and stretch them out to cover it up. The notification panel is pretty much a waste of space when compounded with the notification AND mail that you get for most events. Seriously information overload. I totally agree with all points in that line of thought.
I find the different mail tabs useful for mass-deleting trade, quest, etc. and leaving just player mails.
I do wish that when you sent a mail you went back to you rinbox rather than sent mail. That just seems a bit... weird. All in all, I generally loathe the mail system on every single level, from having to click on a person's name in a pop-up even when you've typed it correctly to not being able to clear out your own sent mail of junk.

+1 I admit I tried the April 1st joke once and laughed ... but did assume it would be for 1hr which it should have been to avoid the continuous repeaters. As for mail there are numerous things that could be done better as mentioned. My wish is that I could just turn off some of the auto-generated emails to reduce the volume. I guess I should just takes Createure's approach.

Thank you Luna for the apology. I will remove that part of the post since it doesn't belong here and people can post their thoughts on the mail system.

Yes i agree too, we only need the notifications in one place ,the ones in the mail can leave :)

Actually you have 3 different places for notifications which is serious overkill if you think about it. 1. The Notification Box which is permanent 2. The ones in the mail. 3. There is a purple tab that shows up over your Inbox Envelope Icon. That takes you to notifications as well.
There are 2 things I think would be amazing if they could do. I know our Dev team if almost God like and can do just about anything, I don't know anything about programming so I don't know if this would be possible, but if they could do one of the 2 below that would be amazing I think:
1. If you leave the Notification Screen but have a link you can click on to read the report if you choose to, then those that want the reports to look at 1st hand could still have it. Those that are tired of the reports could ignore it easier that way.
2. Filter put on the mail section and actually put those areas into storage for those types of reports. People could easily go in and clean those out without it muddling up the inbox and making it hard to find items.
Now I would really like to be able to have a area in the Inbox to save mail I want to save and delete all the rest in one click of a button. Right now it is frustrating when your trying to clean out your inbox and end up clicking and deleting a mail you wanted to keep. Those are just my thoughts. I would still like the forward to work. The extra work in forwarding a mail so people can see all parties involved is frustrating.
