Hello Illyrians,

Tournament V has now come to a close and we want to wish a huge congratulations to all of the alliances that took part in this tournament. A total of 96 alliances of all different sizes and experience levels took part with a total of 69 holding time on tournament squares and ending up on the leaderboard. There were even 24 rogue non-allied players who took part in attacking squares. That is quite an impressive turnout and marks this as our most successful tournament to date! Thank you to everyone who participated and amazing teamwork all around!

The final results show the top 3 winners are:

1st Place - Harmless? [H?] with a total hold time of 224 days, 17 hours and 20 minutes

2nd Place - Invictus [VIC] with a total hold time of 102 days, 7 hours and 32 minutes

3rd Place - The Crows [Crow] with a total hold time of 99 days, 8 hours and 25 minutes

And an honorary 4th Place mention goes to ~Tranquil~Vision~ [Peace] who had a total hold time of 92 days, 18 hours and 30 minutes. The excellent people at TypeFrag have generously offered to provide [Peace] a ventrilo or mumble server for 4th place as an apology (on our behalf) for a very unfortunate bug in the final days of the tournament on the Turalia and Wolgast squares that incorrectly displayed the holding time for some of their troops. (As a note, the final figures published have been corrected to show accurate placements for all alliances.)

Alliances who won individual squares are:

Harmless [H?]: Azura, Farra Isle, Kumala, Lan Larosh, Qarosslan, Ragallon, Rill Archipelago, Stormstone Island, Tallimar, Tor Carrock, Ursor and Windlost

Invictus [VIC]: Arran, Elijal, Keppen and Zanpur

Victrix [VICX]: Djebeli and Larn

Curse of the Wolves [Curse]: Fremorn, Meilla and Kal Tirikan

Murder of Crows [mCrow]: Kem and Norweld

Crows Nest [nCrow]: Keshalia and Tamarin

D'Haran Empire [DE]: Kul Tar

Toothless [T?]: Laoshin

The Crows [Crow]: Lucerna

Dwarven Lords [Dlord]: Mal Motsha, Taomist and Perrigor

Knights Virtue [~KV~]: The Wastes

~Tranquil~Vision~ [Peace]: The Western Realms and Middle Kingdom

Absaroke [Absa]: Trome and Turalia

EAGLES EYRIE [EE]: Wolgast

As a reminder a list of all the fabulous prizes http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/tournament-v-details-rules-prizes_topic3205.html" rel="nofollow - can be found in the rules thread .

Thank you again to our sponsors http://www.enjin.com/" rel="nofollow - Enjin and http://typefrag.com/" rel="nofollow - Typefrag for donating the out-of-game prizes for our top alliances.

Lastly, I'd like to pour out a beer  in honor of the 21,162,565 troops who lost their lives in this glorious event. Humans 8,112,289; Elves 6,439,081; Dwarves 4,971,448; Orcs 1,637,486, Elite Praetorian Guards 302; Praetorian Guards 878; Air Elementals 16; Earth Elementals 19; Fire Elementals 16; Water Elementals 6 and last but not least Scrawny Wolves 1024. Those poor wolves....

Yes, I think Mt Doom is going to be very fertile with all the bodies...  Almost 10% of the total deaths happened there

Should definitely be renamed Mt Doom.

I'm disgusted with the way this tournament was handled.  There should have been limits put in place so that no alliance could win more than one square.  It would have let everyone participate instead of just the handful of multi-million population alliances.

Ryelle says HUGcr had great fun being repeatedly crushed by DLords.  They are not a multi-million pop alliance.  It's not all about winning.

We didn't take it from RES. It would have been another VIC square if we weren't there. And the "H" was just a bit of fun. Don't read more into it than it was...

In fact, Hugs got rather close to winning the square, without really getting all that much outside help. And TCol might've won Mal Motsha if their allies hadn't been embroiled in a war for most of the tourney.
As this was the first tourney where smaller alliances had any chance at all, I think in the future, as they learn to coordinate better, they (smaller alliances in general) may be able to match the larger alliances.

Say... About as classy as a grown man throwing a childish tantrum and sieging himself from the game in a hissy fit?

About as classy as that?

TBH I thought the H on Tor Carrock was pretty funny... i'm glad someone noticed it.

Gotta say tho it was just 1 guy I think who cooked up and enacted that hairbrained scheme... no names...

What I can't believe is that no-one seemed to notice me add an extra army to the top of the H to turn it into an A (except H who killed said army) LOL  Unfortunately the army arrived slightly after the main assault so didn't show on SS's video.

Why would anyone disparage Harmless?  We're the good guise (TM). Tongue

Indeed, given the coordination displayed at the end of the tournament, particularly with the new combat calculations, I think HUGcr or another small alliance that used smart strategy would have a good chance.
