Also, are there any settings that I can tinker with in Safari to make things actually readable? I don't use Safari as my browser of choice anymore, but if I want to log in my main account and alt at the same time I use Chrome for one and Safari for the other.

When in Safari:
1) The date/time overlaps itself.
2) Most build queue times overlap themselves to the point of being illegible.
3) Research times/costs likewise get cut off.
4) Distances to other cities gets cut off.

Really, the game is almost unplayable in Safari as I have my settings now (zoomed in - it seemed worse when I zoomed out). I've tried zooming in and then zooming just the text out - still no love. It wasn't great, but then back during the tweaks to the game that improved the layout (which does look better in Chrome), it's become a horrible mess.

I may actually not be on the most current version of Safari: 5.1 for Snowleopard - is there any improvement in 5.1.2, which I think is the highest that will work for Snowleopard?

I use safari 5.1.2 for my alt and havent experienced any of the problems you mentioned.

The map looks horribly 16MBish though.

Sounds like it's upgrade time. Thank Invictusa.

I use an incognito window in Chrome to log in to my alt and myself at the same time.  Works like a charm.
