Arnoniempje an inactive player has been removed from VALAR and his cities are being taken care of internally, thank you.

An open letter to WE and H? in respect of a resolution of the dispute concerning ex-VALAR member Arnoniempje's cities, this letter is on the diplomatic forum and sent to the individuals below.

Dear RMY [WE] and KillerPoodle, Honoredmule and Swarm [H?]

I wish to make a realistic offer to bring this matter to a bloodless conclusion.

I will preface it by saying for the record that WE's claim of right to any of Arnoniempje's cities is not one which VALAR accepts - Arnon was with WE for 4 months over a year ago - it is frankly a very small fig leaf behind which to conceal a fairly obvious attempt to get what you can both get away with. If it was anything otherwise it is most suprising that no-one saw fit to contact VALAR about the cities beforehand bearing in mind that you must have planned and launched your sieges at the latest about 3 weeks after VALAR's declaration of intent regarding the cities on the Forum.

That said I make the following offer:

H? will take H3 and the Arnon cities in Tallimar, H? will exodus H3.

WE will take H2 and H4 and exodus them

VALAR will take H1

There will be no need for WE to pay the 10 Million Gold recently offered in compensation for the city.

VALAR will seek no recompense for the 600 odd troops of Quicks lost to H? when his siege of H3 was destroyed by them.

Please either confirm acceptance of this offer or at the least remove the siege on H1 by 9pm server time today.

In the event of failure to engage constructively with this offer VALAR reserves the right to act in defense of a fair settlement.

Regards,

Taelin

If you are looking for a quick resolution to this matter, I highly recommend you get yourself setup in our Embassy, rather than spamming IGMs to 3 different directors, public forums, etc.  There are fragments of this story in far too many places and it's just a mess.  This is exactly why the Embassy was built, and making us run around tracking 6 different conversations internally, diplomatically, and even here publicly with the inevitable noise from the peanut gallery doesn't foster our good graces.

Well since nothing happened to those cities for a month, I don't think anyone's listened, lol.

I think ToothLess, a new member of nCrow, has sieges at one or more of these cities.  It is my understanding that he's worked this out with involved parties to mutual satisfaction of all.  If this is not the case, contact me through in-game mail.

Well... HonoredMule,

There are, to my simple mind, clear advantages in conducting some conversations in the open I have nothing to hide here.

H?'s profile page contains clear instructions to contact a diplomat in the event of a grievance, I wrote to you as you know yesterday afternoon but you didn't see the message until today I assume.  Having had no response from you imagining you might be away and seeing as enrolment in H?'s embassy according to H?'s profile would require your authorisation, I thought it prudent to write to all 3 diplomats hoping that someone would respond.

So far your response consists of a complaint about my choice of forum and a general insult to the Illyriad player base.

You refer to your good graces: is it now incumbent on anyone who has a grievance with H? to approach them on bended knee and beg pardon for disturbing our mighty overlords?

Do you have any response to the offer I have made; do you think it is fair? or is the only response that 'might makes right' and you will take all you can seize?

I most humbly apologize for failing to immediately jump at the snap of your fingers, and also for allowing more pressing matters to take precedence over piecing together this tattered tapestry of a tale, involving substantially more players outside Harmless than within it.

If you wish to take up grievance with us, you might at least be so kind as to justify your assumption that past association with this account grants you first right to the cities in absence of either might or even prompt occupation--a stance even Harmless do not claim with our own inactive ex-members.

And if you wish us to respond favorably to your grievance, at least do us the courtesy of being specific about who and what is involved, rather than making us track down every detail and separately follow up each version of the story.  15 of the top alliances (counting various Crow wings as one) have seen fit to supply our Embassy with representation, and enjoy the benefits of focused discourse with as many or few of us and/or each other as the situation calls, allowing prompt and productive response.  They even each did so proactively, prior to encountering any specific cause for making use of it.  World's End and Valar are the most notable exceptions.  So forgive me if I do not rush to understand your situation at my own expense in time and research, when you offer so little effort to support your own cause both then and now.

Instead, you spam your entreaties anywhere and everywhere, pretending this public charade is anything but a mockery of due process and an attempt to pressure us into a hasty and unconsidered acquiescence to your terms on a situation to which we've only just been made aware.  You offer us too little time to respond to even a clear-cut situation, no details on a situation that is anything but, and then attempt to coerce us using public scrutiny into accepting your resolution to a problem we don't even yet understand.  Then when confronted you turn to fallacious insinuations and a tone that is outright insulting.

So you have nothing to hide?  Good for you.  I gladly bear in this "open" conversation any mark you would cast upon my character by publicly denouncing your offer and any chance of future agreement.  Until privately shown otherwise, I recognize no claim by Valar on these cities.  I see no reason why I should work so hard on your behalf, nor why I should potentially throw my own members under the bus by carelessly entering agreement.  Let this thread stand as public testament to Harmless? evil and hostile ways, and especially to mine personally.  Both you and the public are fully equipped to judge me and my actions separately and without each other's help.

If this is not how you wish the conversation to end, and if you think it possible we might prove more diplomatic and fair when dealing within proper diplomatic channels, I believe you know where to find us.  If after having actually dealt with us you still find our handling of the situation unfair, you're always welcome to come back here and cry wolf some more.

Taelin-- You are extremely lucky that you are dealing with HonoredMule and not me, Llyorn or others with less temperance than him...

Actually.. Worlds End will be taking Number 1... and personally I see no reason to continue this thread., unless it is to serve as a purpose to show why an Alliance should not take a month to capture the cities of one of its former members!
Must say that WE will in future be inviting members to leave temporarily to capture cities..
That is, Unless all parties are ready at the same time to capture all that are wanted.
I would not expect that A week after kicking a member that there will be anything left for anybody to argue over!?!

I confirm that VALAR have reached agreement with WE as set out originally save that WE will take H1 and VALAR will take H4.

HonoredMule - I was not criticising your speed of reaction to me, merely seeking to explain why I sent multiple messages.

RMY is correct regarding further communication here: although there are a number of other things I would like to say it would probably be unproductive to do so.

I am monitoring inactive players and there are several around, even big, even in Valar and other top alliances, I think we are more likely to have an abundance problem than a lack of cities to take over....

Anyone know how many days have to be an account inactive before the system starts eat it? And what is the sequence of actions? Is it possible whole accounts of inactive players are wiped by the system?

I think quite some time (a few months) if the player has bought prestige atleast once.

The time it takes to delete an inactive player varies.  Some of it depends on the rate at which new players join, since Illy operates on a "one-in, one-out" policy.  The description I'm making here is a combination of what the devs have posted elsewhere and my personal experience observing inactives in my alliances (since I have a good gauge of their inactivity periods).

Very small inactives (under 100 population) who have not purchased prestige or modified their profiles can be deleted in a bit more than a week.

Small inactives (under 2k or so population by my experience, but this is not in "the rules") are deleted in a bit more than 30 days unless they have purchased prestige or modified their profiles.

Large players (over 10k population) or those who have purchased prestige have at least 90 days.

The population amounts I list are for total population of the player.

Actually, size doesn't have that much to do with it.  I recently had a 19k pop player in my alliance disappear after 34 days, while an 8k pop player has stayed inactive and existent for about 45 days.

I don't know about players above 1-2k, but players smaller than that do seem to disappear faster, and really small players disappear even more quickly.

Agree with SS. My old alliance leader (one of the biggest players in the alliance like 12k pop) disappeared after like a month of inactivity. And there where other players (some with 2-3k pop) that had been inactive for over a month and still where there. And still are there. So... what SS said...

Prestige purchases and profile editing are the other factors, as I recall.
