This thread is reserved for diplomacy concerning the South Seas Pirates [~SSP~] alliance. Founding: The alliance's founding date was April 13, 2011. As some of you know, the South Seas Pirates were founded shortly after hints were made by the DEV's concerning the possibility of future sea vessels and ports. I, PirateKing, abandoned my previous account and established this one as well as PirateLord. I am one in the same, and have made no claim otherwise. This is the story of the South Seas Pirates: History: Four islands were settled upon at the creation of this alliance. Recently, a fifth island (which is much larger and is shared) has been settled so the [~SSP~] have a growing presence in the west. The idea was to hold these four islands for the growth of a friendly naval alliance. Many attempts at recruiting failed and players who joined went inactive because ships were set to be released "soon™" and this has not yet happened. So for now recruiting has been postponed until after the release of ships or confirmation that the ship project has been scrapped. Land Claims: The South Seas Pirates currently holds four tiny islands. Though our alliance is small, we will continue to settle these locations.   South Center: [-357|-951] East: [617|-802] Both islands were settled on April 10, 2011   Far East: [897|-798] Center: [-343|-627] Both islands were settled on May 24, 2011   West (shared island): [-908|-646] (World Map) Settled on February 12, 2012 If anyone feels entitled to these locations, please contest my claim and state your reasons below. Goal: This alliance was not set up to be a military force in the south; rather, players are encouraged to engage in friendly combat and play as this game was intended. The concept of a just war is to have military solely for defense and attack only when attacked. I would encourage this of all my members. Future: With the release of sea vessels, the South Seas Pirates hope to expand the alliance within the above mentioned (already claimed) islands. Members: Membership is currently low due to the fact that there are no ships released. I have recently gotten my sister to play, and she will be joining the seas soon. Ranking: (May be revised in the future) The current hierarchy is set up as follows: Captain (founders) Quartermaster (6+ cities) Sailor (4 cities) Cabin Boy (2 cities) Swabbie (only 1 city) In the Brig (players under censure) If you wish to settle on one of the islands: Please maintain proper courtesy and make contact with the alliance before-hand so some basic guidelines can be established. I would ask that you either join the alliance or that your alliance confederates with ours. Furthermore, as our alliance page states, please place ~SSP~ before your cities name upon settling on a [~SSP~] island. If there is a problem: Please contact either of my accounts. If you are going to be called a pirate lord, and establish a Pirate alliance, you had better be prepared to raid and pillage the open seas for all that you are strong enough to take. Tha South Seas Pirates have been negotiatin' with tha Steel Confessors alliance. Durin' tha meetin', the 5th hub in tha west be agreein' ta stay south of -638 and west of -899. Thar be plenty of room fer growth, but this hub be solely fer tha purpose of havin' a presence in tha west. We pirates will honor our word and be keein' ta ourselves on this shared island. As I be sitting on the dock of me port town, with tha evening light fadin’ below the horizon, I glance up ta tha sky and there I sees the first star o’ tha evenin’. An’ I be noticin’ that some stars be shinin’ brighter than others. These bright stars be tha ones which stand out from among all the rest, an’ ‘tis these stars that guide ships safely ta their destinations. *drops pirate speak* This alliance is a failed attempt. I regret waiting so long for a dream which never came true. I wish I could have been more active in the game, but I have a real life as well. I am thoroughly disgusted with the recent attempt to take over my island in the far west, and it saddens me that few even cared. I know I am not leadership material. I am coming to realize that more and more. Part of me wishes I had just kept my first account and never set out attempt a naval training alliance, but what's done is done. I am closing down the South Seas Pirates. I will be joining the [STEEL] alliance and these islands that I have (Including the far west island which still has a town from the take-over attempt on it) will become territory for the [STEEL] alliance. I am staying in the game for now, but I am stepping down from leadership. It has become too much, and I feel this is not one of my strengths. *Takes back up pirate speak* Aaarrrr! A bright star is only tha brightest so longs as there be no other stars nearby. Fer tha brightness of one can be makin’ all the rest look dim, an’ it be no use sailin’ the seas by anythin’ but tha brightest stars. As I sat there, marvelin’ at tha scene before me, I be hearin’ me ol’ wench callin’ from inside tha tavern. I'm sorry to hear this. SSP sounded like a fun alliance to be in, and I would have thought it be more popular than ever with coastal food and water sov. I do hope you stick around in the game whether it be as a pirate or a landlubber. ------------- ...and miles to go before I sleep. |

calling yourself pirates and saying you are friendly seems kinda stupid, change it to trade company or other friendly naval organisation, because if i was in a pirate crew i would be attacking you out of anger from you ruining the name of all pirates

A peaceful Pirate alliance - sounds like a contradiction in terms to me. Friendly pirates are even worse - the flag may be called "The Jolly Roger", but I don't think it has anything to do with Love Thy Neighbour. |

It is with deep regret that the news of the disbandment of the South Sea Pirates has only just reached this office.
The Illyriad Free Times, which is now published in another section of these forums, is busily preparing its third edition and has also hired several new reporters to bring newsworthy events to the notice of its readers.
One of those informed us during his interview that he was made an orphan at an early age and lived for many years with others on a log floating in a large bay in Tallimar and is thus conversant with the customs of the seas.
He was therefore dispatched only last week to the southern seaboard with a commission to seek out the SSP and interview leading figures in that organization.
It is unfortunate that he will be unable to do this now but we are confident that he will still be able to send some interesting insights of life at the waters edge for our readers.

can someone help me with sieging my cities? I am wanting to relocate to the north, and these cities are slowing me down. All but my capitals please. Once the smaller ones are gone, I will use these capitols to start new cities in the far north.
