I've written a simple dom parser of your daily dumps to store, track and search... and have some questions:

1. I don't seem to understand some points about terrain types in the tows file;

What is the meaning of terraintype? Their id's and values are not matched uniquely, what does that mean? ie.:

<terraintype id="4">Plains</terraintype>

<terraintype id="4">Heavy Clay Seam</terraintype>

(Although the overall type IDs (ie. 4 <=> small hill) seem to be unique).

2. Is it possible to add some mapping to terrain type characteristics (such as resources and sov. bonuses) if they are unique?

3. Could you maybe supply your DTD file for the three dumps? (towns, alliances and players? are there any others btw?).

4. Is there some mapping (lut) of all your xml IDs to unique values somewhere?

5. Is there a simple way to map a location on the map (x,y) to it's country name?

6. Are you planning to make any changes in the near future regarding the data in the files?

I've got an MS Access database which processes quite a lot of the town data stuff, which might be useful.  Now if only it weren't 240MB!

I use the towns file from week to week, and in this file id5 is unique to a town, id4 is the Alliance, id1 and id2 seem to relate to terrain type between them (I think id1 relates to the likely resource structure, and id2 to the military advantages, though I'm not sure), leaves us with id3 for player and id4 for alliance.  So in Towns - id5 is different on every line and the others duplicate
