A while in the making, we are now ready to put live a major infrastructure upgrade that will improve performance and scalability of the Illyriad world.

Downtime for this major infrastructure upgrade will be on Monday 6th February 2012 between 17:00 (UTC or Server time) and 18:00.

In the techie world, "performance and scalability" generally refers to faster response time and supporting more users. It generally does not mean "new game features" but you never know!

Scalability: more capacity for speculation!

I dont think there will be anything new when we get back in, but expect the game will have the capacity for the planned new stuff to start being introduced.

From the look of the 404 page, the site is running ASP.Net - which means that while an app_offline.htm is up, every other url on the server will appear to be missing.

At least that's how it's supposed to work. in reality, the act of publishing often removes the file causing the site to reappear briefly until someone replaces it - then the devs can get on with testing the site.

The problem is that Illyriad.co.uk is pointing to the old server address.

The actual address to login is  http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/Account/LogOn" rel="nofollow - http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/Account/LogOn

Should be fixed now.

I did have to whitelist illyriad.com on top of illyriad.co.uk in NoScript to make it work again.
