Greetings Illyrians,

Tomorrow (Tuesday, December 27) at 5PM EST (10PM Server Time), Beau Hindman from Massively.com will be livestreaming Illyriad for http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/12/26/mv-guide-december-26-2011-january-1-2012/" rel="nofollow - Massively TV . Our very own illustrious GM Stormcrow will be on air with him to discuss the game and take some questions from the community. 

To submit your question to be answered on air, post it in a reply to this thread. Please keep in mind that if we get a lot of questions we probably won't be able to use them all. I'll do my best to select as many as I think are reasonable for the time frame. Feel free to post as many as you'd like but make them count! 

There will be a chat room at the twitch.tv channel (that you must have a Twitch account to participate in) during the event but please submit your questions here as it is difficult to take questions live. Look forward to seeing you all in the audience!

SC, You have hinted at incorporating ships in the future of Illyriad.  What have been the biggest challenges in meeting this goal?

One of the things that many people comment on upon joining Illyriad is the nature of the community.  What role do you think game mechanics play in creating a certain atmosphere or encouraging particular community behaviors?  Do you consider whether game mechanics might encourage or inhibit cooperative or competitive behavior as part of game design?

Illyriad is a sandbox game.  This suggests multiple possibilities for various game mechanics.  What elements of gameplay have emerged that have most surprised you? Delighted you? Challenged you?

If you could start over again from the beginning, what do you think you might have done differently? Why?  How might Illy be different today as a result?

What do you see as some of the most underutilized or underappreciated features of Illyriad?

Any plans on using the NPC spawns as harvest points towards those that are animal/creature based?

In example: hides/leathers, meat, bone, etc?  I could see quite the trapping and pioneer feel for going after NPC camps..

Thanks for info, and please give server times in 24 hour format, at some times I'm lost with AM vs. PM. Embarrassed

PvP combat in Illyriad at a high level is currently extremely destructive - while an account can take months to craft, total annihilation of a player's account is possibility in just a few days.

 - Why did you chose to make Illyriad in this way while many games have mechanisms to protect their player's accounts from this kind of death.

 - Do you think it adds realism ingame player social interaction?

 - Do you believe it enriches the player experience in Illyriad in general?

 - What combat based improvements can we expect in Illy for 2012 (PvP and PvM)?

Since tournaments now incorporate times of day (night time/ day time), can we expect to see light changes on our world map and city views in the future? For example, when it's night, will our maps appear to be darker?

How concerned are you with the profitability of Illyriad? 

Are you trying to establish a great game, with solid mechanics, and then worry about profitability? Or is profitability on the front of every choice made by the development team? 

The current "end-game" is basically the Cold war. We have multiple large alliances allied with other large alliances, with everyone at a standstill out of fear of the opposing alliance attacking.  Any plans to "spice it up", or is the player created wars (similar to 1 large war earlier this year) the desired effect?

Real Estate is the name of the game, but there's isn't much one can do once we claim land. How will you address the ineffective manner of claiming land?

Chancery of Estate does not make sovereignty A LOT cheaper it does make the sovereignty a bit cheaper. Tongue

I noticed Stormcrow saying combat has a random factor. In my experience it does not... any GM want to comment?

EDIT: excellent interview by the way, I enjoyed listening to it while doing my clicks!
