wants if, I'd be happy to accept it on my alt at -
541|-476

Wrapped thusly, the person I was talking to though I was directing him to 541|-476.  The first -, as you can see, got separated to the previous line.

I recognize that there is a common device to hyphenate words for wrapping for spacing issues, however when the - is the first character, and when its proceeded by a number, can you make it so the - wraps to the same line as the number?  This is hugely important for discussing map co-ordinates.

Each person can change the size of there chat window so if you have trouble with "wrapping" then undock your chat window and make it bigger.

Undocking can be done by clicking on the top left of the chat window.

I cannot expect the person I'm talking to has an undocked chat window.  A lot of times, they may not even realise there is a '-' there that got cut off from wrapping.

Even undocked, the chat window still wraps -'s to the line before, just in different places.

This seems like a relatively simple change to improve communication for a very important, and basic game element (map co-ordinates)

A good fix would be to enable insertion of hyperlinked coordinates, which wouldn't be treated as normal text and would go to map view centered on them when clicked.

There is no change needed, its customisable (you can undock and also change the size of the undocked window by dragging in the right bottom corner and you can click top right on + or - for bigger/smaller letters) what more would you want?? There are also many factors involved into 'seeing' the same 'wrapping' as you.

Only people with EXACTLY the same settings as you see the same "wrapping" as you. For all you know they could be playing fullscreen (or not), have a different screen resolution then you,  maximized window (or not), same percentage in browser zoom (or not), same browser (or not), etc.

one can copy and paste the url of the map page into chat.  The hotlinks aren't working on the new server, but they can be copied and pasted.  And when the hotlinks come back, then it will just be a click.

you can also use the chat codes for map coordinates that are clickable in chat
[@l=x||y|r]
where
x = x coordinate,
y = y coordinate,
r = the region number - you can see them on the chat codes list on the illypedia.
