Yes, to all those who are wondering: Lorre has officially left the game! (~_~) I have been monitoring his account for the last two weeks now, in addition, I have been keeping in contact with him on Skype. I have been asking him what he was planning on doing with his cities (since there was already one capture attempt). Lorre said he didn't care what happened with his cities any more - so I suggested they be up for the public to take. He liked the idea (if you know anything about Lorre, you will appreciate this about him) of players slugging it out in one last glorious battle to attempt a capture on one of his towns. So to anyone with population (or who just feels like attacking another players siege and preventing them from taking a city) "Game On!" If you have any final Farewell's for Lorre, please post them in here. I will ask him to come in here and read them! I know he will appreciate it. Edit: Corrected font coloring issues and added final farewell message

I did not know Lorre as well as I would have liked to, but from my conversations with him and from his forum posts I know that a cheerful clash of swords would be a delight to his soul. Those who are about to fight, I salute you! And to the Lion of Illy ... I will always remember you.

His 2 cities (Aluria and Voliarom) are directly in Dlord Homeland as such are claimed by DLords. He was one of us once, and is the very reason we allowed his cities to remain in our homelands. Now that he is gone, those cities will live on through our members, remembering the fun loving and ever funny guy known as Lorre.

Have fun guys! belargyle: interesting response, turning an invitation for some competitive fun into an opportunity to stomp about demanding certain cities. I particularly note the way you hinted that you might not allow the cities to remain if someone other than you won them. "Really in the spirit of things, and very much to the benefit of Illyriad as a whole" - or not. T_D: I think Luna's off-topic comment related to the tangent about Lorre's forces and a sov dispute. And finally, just to reiterate, SunStorm and Lorre - utterly awesome. People seem to have been itching to use their armies - now they have a balanced, fun, competitive way to do so. Many thanks to both of you, and best of luck to everyone who gets involved!

SunStorm has assented to this, and I'll amend the page if he requests. For now, it simply gives hyperlinks to each city, and can be used to record victors, assists, etc. If any particular alliance intends to wreck this for the rest of us with regard to particular cities, I can remove those cities from the list. Crow, WE, DiL, Absa, and Champ have all joined in with Dlords, CoK, and Frost! Some are just attacks - Some are siege! (^_^) Keep an eye on the army/siege screen. Will you get the town you want? or will another player take it before you can? You don't have enough population yet, but you are close? An entire alliance can blockade the town - preventing others from taking it and save it for you!!! (^_^)

uummm, I would try another browser. I am not sure what would be causing that since it is working for me. Sometimes I have to copy/paste (Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V) into a word/notepad doc and then paste it back over... perhaps try that. -------------

(^_^) *though this is yet to be seen since I am unable to see any incoming attacks on the squares around the city. Perhaps an entire army is launching to take out all of Fluffy's troops (0.o) - who knows... (:P) -------------

Yes.. Dlords has joined in :) Voliarum sieges have been removed and our own is either inbound or landed.. not sure yet. the town in our Homeland has inbound sieges as well.. |

It's part of their basic training; Plundering and pillagin cities  But what can I say? In all honesty we weren't prepared for this siege to be contested. Several of our bigger players were caught with their military pants down so we threw everything and the citchen sink at them. And the player wanting to capture this city had to wait 2 days for his siege tech to get done before he could send his siege, which gave CoK quite the head start, else this would have been over before CoK could have set up their own siege. Anyways, a big hand and congratulations to CoK for a well fought battle these last few days. I hope you enjoyed the commander XP as much as we do! |

So, the David versus Goliath effort [Lords of Frost at #73, The Crows at #5] comes to an end. The Frosty David had his chance - one hour in which we could have won - and we blew it. The 50,000 Crow troops that promptly camped outside Dearyth are obviously beyond our ability to defeat. So:
