Honestly, tell me why not, since I am generally shot down every time I bring up the idea, with no real clear or substantial argument against. It worked in EVE with plex, it was frikking awesome.

It would take 10 more paragraphs to cover just the basics of why it would be awesome, but if those paragraphs can't come in argument 'for' from the community since Im lazy,  then we need a bigger player base to dilute the establishment with some common sense and unbiased fresh perspectives and Ill shut up about it until then.

Patience is a virtue, resource giving is a sin

Why Kilo because it would release the new guy from falling in line with the establishment instead of buying some prest, giving you the middle finger, and developing themselves via market mechanics etc instead of handouts and falling into dependancy based loyalties instead of doing whatever TF the game mechanics will physically allow?

The pace is too slow to build a customer base which will drive this game and keep the devs' bills paid without prestige.

The tradeoff, is for an old 'vet' (vet 1 year old game lol), buy the hell out of this prest with no RL money speed up your vans, develop your 8-9th city double time, reset commander skills, etc etc.

Also, when it comes to dynamic changes that will draw more players, ther is a line where the devs should give the 'vets' who run things in-game the middle finger. Go ragequit. 15 new guys will show up for every one of you if they keep ontop their game because there is some serious work needs done on this game to really grow a player base.

You want a well thought out answer?  I've only been playing 2 months but I don't see this working.

It appears as though Illy's market has infinite supply and not enough demand.  Resources are basically traded because they can (or so i've been repeatedly told, in another thread, that the market isn't profit based).

As such, there are no tradeable resources that are 'worth' prestige.  Prestige is valued because of the time it shaves off of building enhancements, except for a handful of temporary cases (like trying to reach the pop requirement for your 10th city)

EvE was rare in a lot of ways.  It had a lot of mechanics that 'shouldn't' work in MMOs, yet somehow did all together.  That's why it cannot be copied, because the mechanics by themselves can wreck a game, but eve somehow made it all work.

To illiterate one thing, I didn't mean to be rude although I was and probably did mean to, Is my 'Devs giving vets the middle finger' comment is directed not at the outcome of honest opinion and debate of what would be good/bad/cool/uncool, it is directed at the typical backlash against something cool if it threatens existing ingame selfish interests in any way.

The 'bad idea' reply above is a perfect example of the simple minded impulse driven lashing out against anything threatening 'the comfortable way things work for ME'.
