I've updated the page now to show - hopefully - most of the training alliances.  Anyways, here's the list as I have them:

I hope its helpful to new players looking for alliances.

*cough* http://illyriad.honoredsoft.com/wiki/UK1:List_of_Training_Alliances" rel="nofollow - list of training alliances *cough*

Good luck.  Even my own alliance's training sister can't be bothered to fill in a profile page with extended information, and wouldn't even be listed if I hadn't added it myself.

My list also provides something different from a basic format that the forum could as easily supply (and does) in that it is in a table format with rows sortable by basic boolean criterion, with links to alliance profile pages where more detailed information can be provided.

neither, if you took the time to read the links, you'd see that it came from the alliance description for eSir.

The description came from Aesir themselves, I believe.

Is it really that useful having a wall of text as your starting point?  Even though I read through all that, I can't figure out which alliances are peaceful, which alliances are connected to PvP parents, or even which ones allow or expect long-term membership.

These seem like the kind of important details players will care about and which even new ones will have some idea as to what they want.

I wonder if there would have been criticism of Fluffys wee page if GreatDane had of not said anything?

Probably not.

What's your point?

Then I shall remain blissfully ignorant to the problem? with offering an opposing viewpoint to a comparison someone else brought up.

I think the two lists compliment each other in perfect harmony.

fluffy has the nicely formatted source of info - HM has the nuts and bolts.

are you saying i don't have nuts or bolts?  how rude! :(

I'm sure you have other things to make up for it. ^^

I do wish the major alliances would fill out their profile pages, as it would vastly improve the usefulness of my reference and their own presence.  I might eventually copy some in-game profiles myself, but I already have a todo list a mile long and currently am knee-deep in updating the quest area to deal with race-specific quests.

Hello.

How can my alliance be added? It is not a pure training alliance but has some very strong advantages for small players, that want to learn and get involved! If you join a training alliance in your lists, you are only some kind of small worm, not being asked/informed on the important political issues of Illy. In the Old Republic people get help concerning the game, get resources and get information/can participate in all important debates of the alliance. Therefore you can learn even more, if you are a member.

Sister Alliance to: Non

People to contact: Senators, or members of the Executive Council (Consuls, Minister of War, President of the Assembly or President of the Senate)

Info about alliance: The Old Republic is the only alliance in Illyriad that is a republic/democracy. All members have the same rights and can be elected to important positions! Additionally we offer advice and resources to small members. Therefore players can learn even more in this alliance, since they do not only learn abut how the official RULES of Illy work, but they also learn how to actually PLAY this game (that has a very important political basis outside of the official rules). All members are sovereign members. Therefore you can do whatever you like to do (but eventually have to face the consequences if you are a serious trouble maker/harass newbies etc.).

Entrance requirements: None

Graduation conditions: You start as an associate member (to observe). As soon as you like to become a full member (participate in elections/other polls), we will promote you!

Name: The Old Republic

Is this alliance a gateway to its parent: No.

Recruiting Wing: - (a dash (-) means players may leave whenever they like.)

How are members expected to behave toward other players: - (dash (-) means fighting is neither encouraged nor discouraged.)

Parent/Sister Alliances: non (all members are treated the same).

Basic rules members are expected to follow: You should be active and interested in participating in our democratic political system. All members have the same rights in this alliance and can participate in important decisions!
