Today's patchnotes:

  • SPELL PAGE MAKEOVER
To tie up with the recent release of the first 2 new T2 Magic Buildings, the "Cast Spell" page has had a small makeover and should now be clearer to read.

  • RESOURCE SUMMARY PAGE
This now includes upkeep costs of the new buildings in the listing for each type.  Given that many of these buildings consume multiple resource types, their "Food Consumed" listing has been moved to the bottom of the page so that they don't get listed multiple times.  The Resource Summary should now properly add up to what your hourly figures are.

  • MARKETPLACE RECOVERY
We're still processing refunds on the great financial crash of earlier this week, please bear with us. It's a long and time-consuming task.

  • NEW PLAYER PROTECTION & GEOMANCY
Players under New Player Protection rainbows-of-awesomeness can now receive beneficial Geomancy "gift of" and "bounty" spells from kindly players.  Blights continue to be forbidden, as before.

  • TAX REVENUE DISPLAY
An issue that showed the wrong final upkeep total on the right hand side of the Taxation display has been fixed.

  • GLOBAL CHAT ABBREVIATED
Due to differing capacities to store and process data in-browser between different player setups, we have truncated the number of historic chat lines that GC will display, which now runs between 200 and 300 posts going forward.

  • ICE HOLES
Ice Holes are no long "impassable" terrain, and have graduated to NPC status. Sovereignty can be claimed on them and animals will spawn on them from now on.

  • SERVER UPDATES
We've applied several changes and updates to the way the code works and indexing is performed on the gameserver, and it now runs substantially more smoothly than before.
Regards,

SC

Besides being of the moment, this goes well with Squill's dancing glowing guy there:

Is it just the zoom bar that is missing, but the rest of the map view is as it should be (i.e. it's the new map view)? Or is it the old map view you see?

If it's the latter, are you using a different browser than usual (or have updated it recently)? If not, then you could try clearing your browser cache and restarting it.

I have stumbled upon instances where the "old" pre-html5 map is loaded for me. One was just after city relocation, where it centers the map at your new location, only it showed it using the old map view, even though it normally shows the new one.

Edit: Too late with my reply Tongue

SC, I miss waking up and being able to read what took place in chat overnight.  (~_~)  Could you please bring this back?

Stormy... how about a patch for the sov building production bonus that doesn't give a time reduction bonus for anti-wall units (but does give a bonus for anti-building untis)? As outlined in petition 4325. Come on SC, this bug is a buzz kill... I got walls to demo Shocked sorry if this is inappropriate to post here.

Sunstorm, if you use Butler (and not FF which would be unpleasantly choppy to use after leaving up with Butler all night) you'll be all set.
