Hello everyone,

is there anyone that can explain me what is the unit of measure of spell range? For example, trying to cast a geomancy spell the system informs me that the range is 10.7 (0.7 bonus due to full moon), the only problem here is understanding 10.7 of what: it doesn't seem to be squares since the actual range is much bigger than that.

I don't believe the phase of the moon has any effect on the range a spell can be cast, only spell power. The larger a spells power the more difficult a spell is to break.

I was under the impression the 7% was just increase in mana production >.> I'm glad I never think to answer these questions as I hardly understand half of what's happening XD

actually moon phase has weary much to do whit range.

since none of us knows for sure, i would say its early to dismiss it as "false rumor"

It effects both mana production and spell power. With the full moon at that a 7% bonus to each. I'm pretty certain (99.9%) that it has no effect at all on the range of the spell.

And having said that and gone back to check it does. So if a spell ordinarily has a distance of 100 you can cast it at 107 when there is a full moon. My bad.

Thanks for testing what I had already written (did you need to?).
After this unnecessary mess I'd like to clarify the question in case someone who knows stumbles in this thread: what is the unit of measure of spell range?

Range:
10.00 + 7.00% = 10.70
Maximum Range:
100.00 +% =

That is how the Range appears for my Nature's Bounty Spell.

What is the difference between Range and Maximum Range?

Is the 7% moon phase bonus applied to the Max Range?

If I cast at 107 range and moon phase changes to a lesser bonus, what happens to my spell?

The casting moments spell range is only thing that matters. Spells affect even to the other side of map if you move your city. As I have understood range is the distance that the spell is going with the current mana spending. And maximum range is the maximum distance the spell is going to travel with any mana spending.

"As I have understood range is the distance that the spell is going with the current mana spending."

I have not added Mana to a geomancy with a 10 basic range, but it is in place at over 30 range.

oh, so range is only a basic value and maximum range is what counts? Then I guess it is safe to say that squares is the unit of measure.
