Huh, acceleration on mouse wheel based on rate might solve the imperceptible niggle that's been bugging me with mouse zoom... Will look into it

no no no! i have one of the frictionless mouse wheels and every time i touch it it pops up with the "prestige required" popout that covers the map. bah! Maybe if it only showed up once or something, but every time is just annoying. :) |

Ugh. I hate those wheels without detents so very very very much--and Microsoft for thinking they'd be a good idea. 90% of the wheel's useful use cases are thrashed by the change, and for the one thing they're designed to do better (scrolling), they're still relatively lousy...good only in comparison to dragging the scroll bar or that dorky auto-scroll junk. A popup like that should have a timeout for such situations where accidental triggers are likely.
