I personally believe its the promised land for the Orcs.  The Melders were just busy renovating it.
This is the place were Orc's can run spears through each other without dying, where we can skip through pools of chocolate and eat organs and blood

Paradise.

I think its part of a chain of events - u visit the temple of reason to get information / equipment for some other quest which leads to another and ends at the heart of corruption - but by the time u get there, you have what you need to battle and survive it...  (perhaps - or its some form of Audrey II)

I think it is just a part of making the land 'come alive'. You would find nothing other than death in the heart of corruption - it is a place that should be avoided - looks like that is what it is supposed to be (?)

If golems ever get introduced as a magical unit then that'd be one way of fighting melders. Alternativly insubstantial or other inorganic units such as elementals.

Maybe in the future the GM's will post something official about it on the Herald and they will mention that some faction is trying to stop it and they have a plan of some sorts or something

just my idea
