I still don't have any idea on the combat mechanic of this game.

Is it possible to combine forces when attacking from different players or atleast from different cities of the same player?

Dunno how to explain what i am asking to be really clear.
I played Tribal Wars , and there you could only attack with armies from 1 city at a time . Even if you sent 2 armies to arrive at preciselly the same second , there would be still 2 distinctive attacks.

Whereas Ikariam for example had this mechanic based on rounds , where if by the next round you would have troops from the same alliance arrive at the target to attack , they would add up to your remaining troops in round two. And that was neat , you would have epic battles where 100 of people interact in offence and defence.

But this game is unclear to me. It seems you can't give the troops from one of your cities to another like you would resourcess, which i find dissapointing, but maybe i am a noob and it is possible.

And when attacking it's that mechanic that makes the attackers send 10 times 1000 agains someone that is camping 10000 troops. instead of being able to unite and sned 10.000 at a time. And you can imagine the result.

I have to admit i like this game , the strategic intricacy of Commanders , the subcomponents of building troops , terrains and all  that. Stoped playing ikariam because even with awsome battle and war mechanics , in the end there where no permanent effects , you could not take people's cities or raise them to the ground. Seemed more like a game of tag. But i would not like to revert back to pen and paper battles that are completelly irealistic. I mean in what strategy you have 5 cities but make them attack as individual armies when it makes no sens to split the forces so that they get outnumbered every time.

At the moment attacking forces always attack seperately (there is no 'rounds' system in place).

But attacking forces can work together in a seige situation to form and reinforce seige camp(s).

When breaking seiges - the defender's commander can assume control of all defensive forces in the city and 'sally forth' to assault the seige camp.

And although maybe this "seperate attacks" thing might be changed in the future (though I haven't seen the dev team mention it) - at the moment it is not a big debilitating effect to attacking forces.

1,000 T2 cavalry will still inflict massive damage on a bunch of 20,000 swordsmen in open plains.

In the King's First Tournament (capture the flag contest) it was proven a number of times than attackers who coordinated their armies well to assault an enemy flag were generally much more successful - so although armies didn't attack together there are still significant advantages to good coordination.
