We've had a few of our players complain about their resources being stolen and their commanders being assassinated.
This
started around two weeks ago, and judging by the amount of resources
being stolen per raid, it points to around 5.8-6k (perhaps even more)
advanced thieves, thus eliminating smaller players from the equation.
As you all know, we do not shelter aggressors, so these cannot be retaliatory attacks.
If
you have any information at all on the player(s) you think may be doing
this, please come forward with that information. We need your help, as
this is diminishing our ability to help the new players that come to us.
Help us find out who's picking on the good guys.
Thanks, Leung.

You must try to track back diplo units that are doing that, you can organize few active players to do that.In what intervals this theft happens? That can reveal how far is player that is doing thefts. There are many ways to narrow your search.
It is very stupid sending diplos on new players that dont even have much advance products, not to mention how low must one get to attack new players.
Do you guys have somebody that holds grudge against you?Nobody would do that just to get few res, who ever can make 6k diplos dont need to send them on new players.

It seems that attacks on newbes and unaffiated players are on the increase. They are the mark of a coward who seeks the least defensible target rather than prove their prowess by attacking an enemy alliance for a cause.

How could anyone outside your alliance help in that matter? If you are really defense union, it shouldn't be difficult to trace those thieves. I don't know your role in FDU but complaining here without any clue of who might did it doesn't make sense, it can only harm reputation of your alliance.

Grego, it is not that easy. The FDU are still recovering from past events and they are doing the best they can to help new players and the leaders themselves are not that old either, the FDU need help from players as they are what many players go through before going onto bigger alliances, nobody wants to see new players being attacked and rest assured the player responsible should sieze or face harsh penalties.

As an old member and ally of FDU, I offer any resources to help in the newbies building effort that was damaged by the diplo attacks. Send me a message with the res stolen and I shall send,to make sure the newbies don't suffer with this "misunderstanding"...

Lianosk, Leunegarific and other FDU leaders have done a fantastic job trying to fill Shraps shoes.
Its wonderful to see all these heartfelt expressions of concern offers of assistance from H? and others, but maybe there is another solution.
I was wondering if the FDU might benefit from the return at,leadership level, of prevoius FDU stalwarts EOM Harry and Belathazor..
EOM Harry has a reputation as trader and a mediator while Belthazor is a tremendous orgainisor and motivator.
I know it 's a bit cheeky but if those two giys returned to work alomgside there old buddies in a Council that woulld share the work load as well as offering a deterrent against the bashers of newbes.

Im sure me and Belt would love to return to the FDU but we both have found great places in other alliances and it wouldn't be right to just leave when they have put so much faith and resources into us. However i am sure me and Belt would love to become more involved in the FDU again, and if the leaders of the FDU would accept, i would happily stand by them with resources, adv.ress and protection to aid all of thier members. Im sure Belt would say the same but allas i cannot speak for him :) I wait for any message from FDU members for appropriate help :) Love you all FDU :p

My mate Harry is right. I have made many friends since I left FDU.Some of them, like Nok, became like brothers to me. It wouldn't be right to leave them. But as Harry said, I would love to help more FDU, either with res (which is more Harry's thing) or with defense and creating strategies, being that the field where I'm more at home. One thing is for sure,I will help any FDU member that comes to me. But I won't leave my brothers alone in the cave. They need me there, the heroic leader of the Rangers of the North, lover of Elissa, the air mage. They would be pretty much screwed without yours truly Especially, one that goes by the name of Nokigon Cediris.I bet that one would cry like a baby if I left

Seems to me like FDU need to get more organised.Otherwise it'll be almost impossible to catch the aggressor(s) and/or arrange outside support.

meditator - One who meditates
[M]editation is used to describe practices that self-regulate the
body and mind, thereby affecting mental events by engaging a specific
attentional set.... regulation of attention is the central commonality
across the many divergent methods"

"Being a professional mediator is all about conflict resolution, and so the job demands a person with excellent reasoning, problem-solving, and peace-making abilities. When two parties have a dispute and wish to avoid the legal intricacies of litigation, they may call in a mediator to facilitate an equitable solution. While many are suspicious of lawyers and attorneys, mediators are more often attributed with qualities of wisdom, trustworthiness, and neutrality." - Princeton Review

Thank you all for the feedback. We have indeed been collaborating with some friendly and interested parties, and are closer to discovering the attacker(s).
The attacks seem to have stopped for now, but as it is not possible (as of now) to position large-scale diplomatic forces in allied cities, I'm afraid our newer members might continue to suffer.
My thanks to Harry and Bel for their kind words, but I feel that involving inter-alliance politics would not be a benefit to anyone in FDU at this point.
If any more such attacks take place, we will let you know. If any of your members have faced similar attacks recently, please let us know, as this should help us pinpoint the attacker's location.
Best Regards.

Leun,it's not inter-alliance politics at all. I'm acting as an individual who was a member of FDU and an ally to them.CoK is not involved in this,so I see no inter-alliance problem. I believe I can say the same for Harry.

Rule of thumb, make it hurt. If you catch and identify em, even better...
Most of your problems in Illyriad will come in thieves, it is anonymous and if you are not active enough, untraceable, unless you catch and identify. Set your ward to 500 on thieves and stack some thief defense and/or move your goods to a city with the thief defense. Or if you do not have enough for whats being taken... spread it out... use it... give it to people who could use it.
EDIT: Of course... for future incursions... This is pretty public and the thief would stay away from this if they had any sense...

It hurts me to say this, but another of our members has started suffering from constant thieving raids. The player "Klandestine" has been hit (so far) a total of eleven times, with the thieves clearing out whatever was not protected by her vaults.
The fact that there are players who would not only pick on newer players (who still have little or no way to protect themselves, especially as diplomats cannot be stationed at allied towns), but also on players who are in a training alliance, is something Illyria needs to come to terms with, and identify & eradicate such damaging attitudes.
It's a shame that these things happen on a daily basis here. Shame.

takes notes. please, keep posting the evolution of the situation. maybe your member shall rush the mage tower and get some major runes up asap. and if the culprit or the culprits is/are found, please, post as well.

Personally I wouldn't discuss ways to defend yourselves against one kind of diplomats. Eventually the attacks will move onto another nuisance, such as sabotaging.
Make sure counter intelligence and interrogation is researched
Start building up your basic diplomats
I even build up scouts and spys, no one is allowed to know whats going in my town without my permisson.

Will do, Kilo. For the next few days, we'll try to have all our new members speed-build their mage towers and set up high-powered glyphs.

What this guy said...
The very best thing to stop folks "farming" you... (although if there is anyone in this game who believes they are in that status, we need to create a forum for them)... is to get seeking or destructive runes.
Bottom line is that you just need to speak out loudly and you WILL be heard.

Eh, there is little profit or reason to sabotaging/assassinating.... other then war or grief...
Thieves is based on profits. It is what you would use during times of peace/non-aggression. If you get caught, you can make reparations to keep it quite and gain forgiveness.
Sabotage/Assassination is not used to further your own growth but only to delay/stop the growth of another.
