Updates (20MAR):
- Change: Forum Posting
- We've had some requests from people to be able to post
replies/feedback on our news items in The Illyriad Herald.
Stuff from the Herald is regularly copied over to the Announcements
thread in the forum, and forum-registered players can now post replies
to these threads.
- Buglet (resolved): Mails without Subjects
- You could not read the body of an ingame mail without a subject
line. The system now prohibits sending ingame mail without any content
in the subject line, and previously received emails are now visible with
a [No Subject Line] subject line. If that makes sense.

- Genders and character portraits
In
player registation in addition to race you can now choose your
character's gender. Also for current players you can choose your
character's gender in your player profile.
Please note you can only change your character's gender once, so make your choice wisely.
A character portrait for your race and gender will now be shown alongside your choice of player desciption.

Changes to Overall Rankings- The combined Overall Ranking scores have changed.
They now take into account the rank within each sub-category (such as
trade, quests, magic, offense etc) rather than the pure score in each
of the individual ranking categories.
As such player positions are likely to have changed in the
"Overall" category, but will remain the same in the sub-categories.
tl;dr Rankings have changed and are now more mathematical
and equitable than they were previously.

I wonder how the formulae that calculates the rankings looks like. What weighs heavy in the scoring... and what doesnt... Just curious, i see the trade rankings/scores doesnt count as heavy anymore.

We've just done a new update which should prove more equitable and take into account relative score rankings within each category rather than just raw postions. More to follow - see it in the Hearld first!
