There's a very logical explanation for this which Bartimeus has discussed with me. That action is being taken at his request and he will be rejoining H? shortly. What have H? become? They were most admired alliance in Illyriad always very self conscious of their status and quick to develop a sense of outrage at the slightest suggestion that they bullied other players. In this thread they joke about evil and enjoy the discomfort and misery of others.
Instead making a straight forward statement, to the forum, about Bartimeus both Kumomoto and Honored Mule have indulged themselves in their usual arrogance and hubris almost inviting bartimeus to break his agreement with them and relishing the prospect of the consequences.
Many of you will remember Sharpnel's doubts and concerns about H? which are still available in these forums.
To my mind Sharpnel's original premise was right.

What's puzzling to me, Bragdush, is that you are literate enough to know the word hubris yet are illiterate enough to not see these comments as sarcastic. Or, you are purposefully misinterpreting them to pursue an agenda. Smells like the latter. Just curious as to what your motivations are for said agenda or are you another alt from one of our existing trolls...

Baldie-- I don't care if you troll me, but I think you'll find yourself EXTREMELY unpopular amongst most all of the major alliances in Illy if you troll TD. He has been the most impartial, dispassionate observer possible throughout the whole tournament and beyond, always espousing a neutral, fact-based position. It is a fact that he has called H? out on some things when we've been in the wrong and has been right to do so.
So I don't know know what your personal mental issues are, and I don't care if you attack me or H?, but I do take offense to any maligning of TD. It's patently unfair, so cut it out.

I've heard tale of some people like him that screw up a few times on a mmo and try to help "gorrila tatic strategy" and when they see others insulting them reverting to a troll like state "above". The truth is:- that anyone who tells the truth about H? are liable for the same kind of treatment as Bartimeus whereas those who tell lies on it's behalf or give sycophantic support will receive a few words of favour to their face and a great deal sly laughter behind their backs.
Regieme change is what is needed in H? Perhaps the once worthy senior players of H? will show those old qualities that they once had and effect it but I don't hold my breath.

Perhaps if a player was a teenager or younger, I can see such a player kill themselves. But like I said before, if someone does insult me, be ready to get insulted back. |

No he did not agree to, he asked to get a city razed (so that, just as The_Dude points out, he can relocating his city). 1. Yes, to enable an alliance mate to raze his city he left the alliance (again - at his own initiative). 3. Well, as many have pointed out before me, he is not making false claims, he is playing along with the sarcasm that started on PAGE 1 after KillerPoodles statement that this was temporary and that Bart still was under H? protection and after The_Dudes lucky guess of what was going on. After that it was so obvious what was going on (for most of us), hence the opportunity to have some fun with fellow gamer on the forum. Clarification: When I say that The_Dude had a lucky guess of what is going on, I'm being sarcastic. Why? Because this way of "moving" cities is (in my view) a well known and widely used practice.

No Mr Anderson I am not deliberately misunderstanding your sense of humour. You and those other Harmless? posters are deliberately missing the point :
ie players like Kumomoto, are arrogant and generally contemptous of other players and this tends show in their posts in the forum and in chat. Those players have bred a culture of arrogance and contempt which is endemic in H? (and parts of T?) .
This, amongst other things, tends to lead to threads like these where instead of upholding the value of protecting weaker players from tyrants - players from H? devalue it first by parody and then by lies. They do this because they mistakenly believe that they are above everyone else.
That is one of the reasons why I highlighted the need for regieme change in my earlier post because there are still decent players in H? Instead of submitting to; and defending the arrogance of Kumomoto and his kind - Show some true courage and replace him!

I'm not sure what your issue is and how we or I wronged you, but I'd appreciate some concrete evidence of so called arrogant and contemptuous behavior.
The only thing I'm contemptuous of is undeservedly hostile attitudes from people who are too thick and myopic to understand that an entire thread is one of sarcasm. Do you really believe that H? is in a contest with Curse to see who is the most evil?
If so, I know there are some guys who want to sell you a bridge out there...
As to protecting new players, I defy you to find a single alliance who has provided more protection (both as H? and as the provider of protection to T?) for new players in this game. Your accusations are baseless (just like your slight on TD was) and, frankly, the fact that you espouse the beliefs of the most egregious troll in this game, LH, are doing you absolutely no favors.
And, btw, I don't lead H?, KP does-- yet another example of you not having your facts straight.

I bet you hate the fact Curse is mentioned in the same EVIL breath as H? now. The truth has been out for awhile now... H? has been EVIL from the get go. I talked to a fellow gamer about the state of this game... An experienced gamer with valid points and opinions. I talked about the community and the strategy in Illyriad. He told me that this game sucks due to the ZERG warfare due to a player having no way to defend against overwhelming odds. It also sucks due to the superiority complex community that drives players from the game if they do not have the same personality as the top players. Basically, if you are not allowed to join this private party, the shunned players should leave game and have their IP banned due to not being liked by the top players. He said the strategy in the game presents a HUGE balance issue favoring the attacker over the defender. I told him that players need to have a lot of friends due to the game ZERG tactics that the community adopted as the only tactic in the game. He said that was way too boring. He told me that he played a game kinda like this one that had the same type of community forcing players out of the game that did not fit their personality... The game he told me about... ended up dieing due to the community. The lifeblood of any MMO, is the community. No matter how great a game is, if a community like this one tries to control every aspect of the game (in game and forums alike)and allow only the players that fit in with the top players, the game will be doomed! H? may help new players join the game... However, if these new players do not have the personality they favor, they will force these players out of the game. This community is more of a reflection of H?... An uptight community that forces player out if they do not fit the personality they like. Like I said before, this game needs a lot more MOD Strategos players, instead of control freaks that feel the need to force their personality onto others will. Basically what H? and the top players with similar personalities want, is a private party server that has only the personalities that fit with theirs. With all of this said, I like the Illyriad game, I like the potential it has. I would love for this game too fix the balance issues. Once those issues are fixed, I think this game will be a keeper. However, like I said a million times, the community right now is filled with control freaks and I find that to be unfortunate. To be accepted in this community is just as hard as getting the green jacket at The Masters. And believe me, I have tried to get that GREEN JACKET! |

Hmmm. I would like to put my hat into the ring for this contest.
RES razed 19 TMM cities, 5 MKs cities, 2 CrowB cities, a dozen or so unaligned cities, and when I was in MK, I gave the kill order on 4 cities, and in PX, 1 city destroyed on my order. Oh, and RES has captured 2 cities.
Not a bad year's worth of work for a peacenik. Maybe I am the mostest evilest peacenik to ever wander the world of Illy. :)

We use permabans very infrequently (as far as I can remember, only one so far this year) and do so only for multiple or particularly egregious breaches of the rules. The rules are there to preserve both the fairness and fabric of the game. "Not being liked by the top players" plays no part in GM decisions. Regards, SC |

Actually, I don't recall an open invitation to H?.
My personality is unique to me and even I can barely contain myself.
I am much too evil for H?. Those guys are wimpy, meely-mouths. No Texas flair at all! Shoot, a jalapeno pepper would probably scare them to tears.

Indeed, 1) I have left H? deliberately because I couldn't be sieged while in the same alliance. I will get back in H? as soon as the siege is ended. If I were kicked from H?, why wouldn't they have also kicked my alt? 2) I wanted to relocate my smallest city, which was poorly placed. 3) Obviously I wouldn't call them "mind control freaks" if they had forced me to post this... Also, no-one can force anyone to post (or not post unfortunately) anything in the forum... If someone had such means of pressuring me, I'd leave the game as it would have become too serious for a game. While English is only my third language, I do believe my first post was clearly sarcasm. The only way you could misinterpret it is by WANTING to. So please carry on thinking H? kicked me out and is razing my smallest city against my will, and is forcing me to post this as I write... I can assure you I did not deliberately miss that point... I just missed it. If that really was the point you where trying to make, imo it took you quite a while to articulate it. I now know, by your words at least, that you did not deliberately miss the sarcasm. If that means you did understand that they where joking or that you didn't is still unclear - I just knwo it wasn't deliberate. If you did understand they where joking it raises a lot of questions that I'm not really sure I would like you to answer. But why, why do you keep questioning what was going on with Bart if you know it was a joke? I mean the point you wanted to make about arrogance and "going after the little and less worthy people" (or how you now what to phrase it), lying etc. would have made so much more sense in connection to a thread and an event where this was actually going on. THAT, would have proven you point (if it ever was possible from the beginning). If you did not understand they where being sarcastic, why didn't you just say so? ------------- MrA |

There's a news network out there that frequently leaves me believing surely I must be watching some parody or jester's gambit or circus act...or disguised cock fight. Now I won't mention FOX's name directly, but that network is NOT The Onion. The Onion delivers even the most outrageous and hilarious parodies with more professionalism and class than CNN and the BBC combined. If they added cops in short skirts, it would be better than Benny Hill classics. |
