Can second + cities be taken when they are just starting out, or do they need to get to a certain size?

One of my mates thought that a city couldn't be taken until it got to 450 pop., but my understanding is that it can be taken right after it is built as long as the person attacking it successfully has enough pop. to build another city and hasn't done so?

Thanks for clarifying! [I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering... Certain other characters with satanic names and Mongolian tendencies probably are curious as well... Tongue]

Well, it's a "moot" point insofar as no one has yet got to Siege Warfare yet, and you probably have a good few weeks of "grace" left before this point.

But yes, non-capital cities can be conquered as soon as the Siege army reaches the time when it can "Storm the City". More will be in the Siege guide when it's written!

Best wishes,

Oh, you can't just take the city by attacking it and winning? (I thought sieges were only if you wanted to reduce the defenders walls and/or buildings prior to attacking?)

I take offence at that, the vast majority of my tendencies are Italian.

There's quite a chunky insight into siege mechanics and capturing cities in my last post on Page 3 of http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/soliciting-thoughts-on-alliance-barriers-to-entry_topic122_page3.html - this thread .

Exactly, and that's why I don't have to read it, I delegate that to you.
