Hey I have a few suggestions to this current game, please note that I am a new player, and while I have read through some of the suggestion threads, there's no way I could have realistically read through them all, so please pardon me if I am repeating a suggestion.

  1. Walls-  I have noticed that while some alliances have "hubs" areas where the alliance can be together and stand better protection than being on their own out in the world, there's still some that could be done, for one there's really not that much added protection.  I agree that the reinforcement time of allied forces in our city is dramatically cut back, as well as resources to help move your city along. Why not a wall? 
    I am aware that there is a puny"wall" already in place, get stonemason to level 5 then you can build a "Wall" for extra unit defense, why not go for gold?  The wall would be seen on the world map, if would prevent any hostile movement" anyone that is not in the players alliance" entry to the selected area. To get through that selected area, you would have to either A, bash it down, B,  scale the wall "only possible if more features added " i.e ladders". or C, find another way through that's not walled off.

  Please tell me what you think of this idea.

As some people have pointed out there are some flaws, one would be  as follows:

Make it cost a great deal of resources, something that could be used to the extreme^ but would take a great deal of build time, and resources.

The idea of gates would come into play less "hit points"  but would allow the movement of your soldiers/diplomatic units as well as your allies. it would also allow trade movements.
