ALLIANCE MECHANICS, THEY ARE A'CHANGIN
After http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/soliciting-thoughts-on-alliance-barriers-to-entry_topic122.html - some discussion with you all over in the Misc / Suggestions area, we're changing the way alliances work in some key areas, and want to give you a good week's notice before the changes hit live - in case you want to make any changes to the way your alliance works.
We are going to:
- Drop the concept of War Pending, the 24hr War Pending timer and War Dec Fees.
- Keep NAPs and Confeds, and Escrow can be offered for these
- Make NAPs & Confeds enforce non-aggression, and we are making
quitting a NAP or Confed have a cooldown timer before the non-aggression lapses. The non-Aggression timer applies to military
units only
- Allow anyone in game (Allied or Neutral) to attack anyone else without warning, except as noted above (with NAPs and Confeds and the timer)
- Increase the Alliance Setup Fee to 5,000 Gold
- Not introduce Alliance upkeep fees (we talked about it, but decided not to for now)
- Continue with Alliance Forum development and Alliance data sharing to provide new ingame benefits for Alliance
- Keep Alliance Taxation, Tax Collection, Alliance Finances for those who wish to use them
- Allow the Alliance Coffer to protect Gold held in it, above and beyond that protected by the Alliance's Capital City, and related to the number of members in the Alliance
This should fix a number of the issues that have been spotted on the horizon, and we hope everyone sees them as fair and equitable.
