World Map Resource Squares
The World Map now has gatherable resources on it, that require no more and no less than a caravan or two to gather resources!

Beware, however, you may need to defend your caravans from hostile players.

major-release-15mar_topic138.html - Full details are available here .

Exploit (closed) - More Caravans than your marketplace can support
Some players have found a way of making more caravans that their marketplace can support. This loophole has been closed, and we're giving 12hrs notice that anyone with more caravans than their marketplace can support (1 per level of marketplace) will find those caravans will unfortunately be tracked down and destroyed by the GM's Elite Dwarven Sappers at midday tomorrow (GMT).

If you have more caravans than your marketplace can support you are well advised to make sure they're not servicing trade offers, moving, doing quests, or harvesting by 12:00 tomorrow, as they will sadly take their contents with them when the Sappers find them and blow them into smithereens.

Caravan Production
The Merchant's Guild has become weary of funding themselves, especially as they may now be required to venture out into the wider world to gather resources - taking risk on your behalf - and so they now request that each Caravan built has a Horse provided with it to pull the cart.

As Caravans cost no upkeep, paying their own way as they ply their trade, this isn't a bad deal.

Advanced Warning - Alliance Changes
Some of the current Alliance Mechanics are changing. Read about them alliance-changes-heads-up_topic141.html - here.

New Additions/Changes (14MAR):
Buglet (resolved): Master Thieves, Vaults and Gold
Vaults were only protecting a "secondary resource" level's worth of gold (ie 2 Gold per level of the Vault), not the "primary resource" level of the Vault's Base Capacity.

This has been fixed, and players who have petitioned for Gold lost to theft (whilst within their vault capacity) have been refunded.

Any other players who believe that they have lost Gold to thieves that should have been covered by the Vault are encouraged to Petition and we'll investigate each instance.

The second war of the world is declared
Alliance The White Company declares war on Alliance Knights who say Ni
topic117_post1093.html#1093 - Press release from The White Company, and a death-to-white-company_topic120.html - press release from the Knights who say Ni.
More on this story as it happens...
New Additions/Changes (12MAR):
New Guide to Environment
A 6-environment-seasons-lunar-phases_topic119.html - new guide is available that explains some of the effects the seasons and moon cycle have on the world.
Buglet (resolved): Outstanding alliance invitations
A buglet that meant that if Player A invited people to join Alliance A, and then Player A left Alliance A and went to Alliance B, any pending invitations (ie unaccepted but also not rejected) would remain attached to the existing alliance, and take up an invitation slot from the alliance's capacity.

This is now resolved, and when a player leaves an alliance any outstanding invitations from that player will auto-cancel.

Alliance Joining/Forming Cooldown
Leaving an alliance and immediately joining (or forming) another is no longer possible. There is now an enforced 6 hour cooldown between leaving an alliance and performing any new alliance activity (such as accepting an invitation, or forming a new alliance). During this time, the player is regarded as a Neutral, non-allied player by all.
