Update 15OCT2010

NPC Drops: If you are victorious in a battle against NPC units on the map, these now drop Gold that your remaining troops will collect and bring back to your town.

Your combat report gives details on the amount of Gold recovered.

Faction Info Update: The Faction page now displays your current standing and your alliance's current standing with each Faction.

Your current standing is based upon the default for the race, currently (but will fluctuate depending on your Faction interactions in future).

Alliance standing is based on the average standing of all the members of the Alliance with that particular Faction.
