Since Google has actually come out with a beta AI that can run your browser to do things like order plane tickets it's possible that within a year or two we would be able to give an AI instructions like "tab through my cities and produce the most valuable t2 resources"

This is pretty interesting. Sov would fix itself under this regime once the AI got the hang of it. It may lead to false positives on automation. It may lead to great difficulty in sifting between directed browser control and automation. One option might be to lock the site from AI control... although I don't see how that's possible unless AI companies create a blacklist that websites can opt in to

My suggestion would be to allow user directed AI control!

I wouldn't see much of a problem with someone running their single account with this.  But it could easily be abused with multi-accounting.  If someone has 20 accounts ran by even a very simple AI it would be hard to compete against.

Would be interesting on its own server though.  That has been done with a lot of games where they have AI competitions where the game becomes build your AI model more than playing the game itself.

I see your point, so instead of Ai outside, a less need of Ai would help like cat of mitromanagement or programise arrival army times.... If all the reason we need Ai was removed then there would not be the need of it at the first place

Update: Agent mode is available on the basic ChatGPT subscription. I logged in to a small account I sit with it and asked the agent to ship beer to Centrum and produce the most valuable t2 resources. It was very very slow but it basically did the job. Except when it produced horses lol

I think this rises a very important question, are the devs going to take further action with this because this is effectively automation and botting ?

Once you ask it to send settlers, skinners, assuming it gets better or has the ability to send a specific times to not overharvest etc?

I am not sure if this tool leaves any markers or some sort of way they hook into the browser to make actions, it'd allow devs to block it out but it could also be impossible in it's current format without looking out for player behaviour.

Yeah currently I'm seeing if it can do sov. It's 30x slower than if I was doing it and stops for confirmation sometimes so there's no advantage to it with its current capabilities. But I could tell it something like 'proceed without confirmation checks, I'll be back in an hour'. Or give it several tasks and see if it could do it all overnight

If I use it at all it would be to do sov stuff like demolishing everything and replacing it with a different sov structure, but probably not without some kind of indication that it is under review or positively allowed. Imo the stickiness of the sov system is what makes the capability interesting, it solves sov without any need to overhaul the actual system

edit: lol one of the armies is already returning, it wasn't able to occupy four squares and then claim the sov before the first 10 minutes occupation ended
