Fellow wolves,

As you know I have requested all your troop and diplo inventory.

Now to let you in on the action.

Our very own members pepe, Brunin and Astral Projection have been attacked by gigi, not once, not twice but several times. I have tried to solve the matter through diplomatic ways but things have come to a point where retaliation is our only option. WOTP tries to solve things in a civilized way, but that didn't work out.

I have been working on support for a few days and I am happy to announce we have support from Dlord, GOON, Wise and even H?.

We are focussing on gigi for the time being, the first wave of attacks will be diplomatic, so my first request is to send out basic diplomats to the following targest :

Bunkerville
Ionized
Solid Electronics

All cities belonging to gigi located at -181, 104.

send in scouts, thieves, spies, assasins and send me reports back if you get them, me ar any Beta rank.

If you have any questions please ask, do not feel you have to participate, but keep in mind we are a pack.

We will not fight this battle alone.

More to follow soon.

Best of luck.

Iduna.
Alpha Wolf

Noooooo! Don't take gigi away! He was a philanthropist at one point or another
And why would you need 5 alliances to focus on one person? Why focus on someone right now? Are you going against somebody else later?
ps. You could have single spaced that, double spacing was wholly unnecessary

I am not amused.

You know, no one in GOON even knew who were we attacking. I don't know if WOTP wouldn't tell us or if no one asked but every time I asked no one could tell me...

Oh well, count my army out on this attack.

Same problem as Tubana - piss off too many people and it'll come back to bite you.

War is not a sparring match, nor a tournament. It is not intended to leave room for the enemy to win.

Thats the problem.

1. Go to war
2. Win or Lose
3. Loser get set back weeks, if not months due to sieges.

Surrender?  Why?
Terms that the winners place on the losers tends to be overtly degrading.  Many players are not attached enough to this game to allow themselves to effectively play as a nerfed puppet of their conquerors.

Here are two resounding examples that I've seen...

-Absorbed into winner's alliance
Not voluntary and effectively there is an implied pressure to stay in.

-Cannot build military and must allow 'us' to check anytime
There goes 1/3rd of the game's content

-Technically not as bad, but there is the send X stuff every Y time period.
Yea, personally though...
"You havn't sent anything."
"Screw you."
*Get's his cities conquered or razed.*

Problem with this "it's a war game, get to grips with it ..." is that this game offers nothing if you lose.

Months of tedious build-up? - wasted
The joy of having put up a decent fight? - Only battles with overwhelming odds are ever staged
Ability to recover from a crippling strike? - Zero, as long as individual players nurture their grudge
Strategic finesse advantage? - Non-existent for only numbers count

Problem with "... he brought it onto himself ..." is that at the next turn someone will claim the same about you.

Because it is so, we players ought to exert self-restraint on
(a) our language and forum behaviour ... no point in cussing, gloating, goading, .... We are all just people with the same interest - to have some fun hours in front of the computer with like-minded chaps
(b) outright destructive play-style. The game is not yet balanced enough (heck it is not even developed enough) to tolerate destructive play-style.

This is what one of my points in the other thread was trying to get at - you said it a lot better - thank you.

Well, good to hear.

Then, how about you be the leading example on walk the talk first?

As far as those alliance teaming up on one person it sounds like they are wimps who can't settle a fight one on one. it sounds like gigi is outnumbered by what 20 to 1 or something., pointless.
To what Zangi said abot the alliances is in part a good idea.
For my alliance, we declare war on your alliance and then i send alliance invitations to all of the players in that alliance and those that join are watched for a while and then acceptd wholly. For those that refuse there is only the destruction of their towns, but if the person i am attacking sends me a message that they surrender and will join my alliance then i will stop my attack and invite them, i don't want people to quit the game so that's my plan for keeping more people playing. If you can't take on someone by yourself then get SOME allies to make it a fair fight noy an impossible fight.

This situation has been playing for some time, we don't go into such lenghts without good reason.

The main reason for this "overkill" as some may see it, is that gigi made us believe he had such a massive army present that it would be nothing less then suicide to just attack his cities.
Besides that, after attacking WOTP several times he decided to join up with Good, even then he kept going with attacks.

At some point enough is enough.

And after all that, we had to find out he was also spying in our alliance with another account.

Everyone may think what they please, but for us it ends at some point.

You will excuse the euphemism when I say that, to me, it became very apparent that Gigi was a little bit of a loose cannon. He was intensely bored with the game and set out to spark fires wherever he could in an attempt to generate at least some excitement. In my personal opinion I believe that, inwardly, he was always looking for an excuse to leave the game.

Regrettably, it would seem he was too successful on all counts.

Nevertheless, I think it's apt to quote the immortal words of Dr. Eldon Tyrell:
The light that burns twice as bright, burns for half as long, and you burned very, very brightly.

Nice quote, good book, awesome movie (my favourite of all time).

I think for the excitement he has now, he is still playing. If this is all over he might, or might not quit the game. But I really don't know what his intentions are..

He's still playing. He sent a spy to one of my cities yesterday...Though he hasn't responded to my message, so maybe he's trying to give the appearance he's left and hoped I wouldn't be on to watch the spy go from his capital to my city...
