Map section keeps going black

As the topic says, my map screen keeps turning to a solid black. A reload refreshes it but only lasts about 1 minute before it repeats. My video nvidea drivers are up to date and I do not have this issue in any other program.

I had this issue, all I did would switch to a different icon, town map for example. Then once it's loaded go back to world map. For me it would stop being black, if not I would log out and refresh then it would work again.

Same for me. I encounter this problem regularly, normally the second or third attempt is successful. Today I gave up after 14 (fourteen) failures!

Ok, this starts being a pain in the ass! Same thing as yesterday, gave up after seven-odd atttempts. If this would happen in a critical moment, I'd consider the game unplayable! Drop the splash screen if necessary, but fix this!

The only time I encounter this is if my internet connection is really bad and it won't load the map up.
Try removing some of the things like units, terrain, etc. It may help
