There is currently a major space problem. This game has become too popular for the size of the current map. There is a 10 field radius limit that makes moving nearly impossible because of the current over-crowding. There are several possible solutions to this that are fairly easy to do:
1. Best solution: Make the map bigger, giving it more possible locations to move to and settle. It doesn't need any new features or capabilities, just more of the same type space. This can be done either by enlarging all sides, or by adding a new land on one or more sides. 2. Good solution: Reduce the 10 field limit to something more reasonable like 4 fields. Obviously the person would still have to deal with people to avoid problems, just as they currently have to avoid problems at 11 fields, but then atleast the game would allow the operation to take place. Then it becomes the people that limit the distance instead of the game. 3. Possible, but not very good: Reduce the level of sovereignty needed to override the limitation. There is currently an override available by getting sovereign level 5 in that square. But this override is not really viable. You could reduce this requirement to level 1 and that might work, but would still be very hard on the size players that need to utilize this option. The time that you wish to move cities is when the cities are small, and as such you are most likely just starting up your account, and managed to capture an abandoned city somewhere. A small city getting level 5 sovereignty at any distance, never mind at a distance that you would want to place another city, is simply not doable. Therefore requiring level 5 sovereignty is simply a useless option for anyone except those with very large cities that for some reason want to reduce one of them to all level 12 buildings in order to move it. We need a solution that works for the players that need to utilize the solution. I.e. for players that have city pops in the 1k-3k range. 4. Not seen as happening in time, and therefore not viable: Release Bad Lands. The problem is that the overcrowding problem is getting severe, and the Bad Lands addition is adding a bunch of new features that appear to be making it take a long time to be released, and this overcrowding problem needs to be solved sooner rather than later. So it would be better to release a tiny change that solves just the overcrowding rather than wait for a bigger change that does all sorts of new stuff. |
