Greetings friends, allies, and Crows, this is a joyous time for me today for I get to take part in The Long Road’s celebrations. This day marks a year since the alliance was founded. A year, three wars and at last check 15 minor conflicts, yet we are still walking our Path. A year and we have managed to open a second [TLR] alliance “Off the Beaten Path” and allow more players that wish it, to walk the Path. TLR wasn’t always TLR, originally it was Dark Knights, planned to be a confederate to Nightbringers[~N~], as led by Iofilip. Unfortunately due to real life requirements he quit Illyriad. In the following days the Night Federation were unsure what to do with Dark Knights and it’s members. While the leaders were debating I stepped forth and offered to take the alliance and the few members it had off the Night Federations hands to allow us in Dark Knights to walk down the Road of illyriad, in our way. After the members in Dark Knights agreed to this proposal, Night Federation graciously allowed us to walk our own Path and thus, our journey began. I won’t lie, it was pretty hard to start walking but once we did everything else just unfolded in front of us. Sometimes we’d be in a war and it would be like climbing up a steep hill, knowing if you stop you won't be any closer to the top, getting more exhausted with every new step, but once we got to the top, we could see the fields of grain, the eagles flying high and the foxes prowling low and know we’d be all right. The beginning of leading The Long Road was harsh but all Roads and Paths of life are hard. Only those that keep up the fight and continue walking make it to the end. The few of us that started walking on our Path soon became a dozen, then twenty, then forty and kept growing. The alliance grew out of each and every member’s dedication to it. Without that it would have shuddered and died long ago. One member no matter how big or strong does not make an alliance, every member together makes the alliance. It’s been a pleasure playing with my friends in [TLR™] and [TLR2] this past year and I am sure the time to come will be just as enjoyable. Thank you all for playing with us this past year, it’s been well worth it.
