Illyriad has always been a very (comparatively) peaceful place. It's nice. It's different. It's refreshing. Not to say there aren't fights and wars, as there is usually something going on at any given time. But recently, the feel has become more abrasive in general. Whether that's because problems have become more vocal or if there are actually in fact more of them, doesn't matter terribly much to me. The overall feel has become more aggressive recently.
Cool. Nothing wrong with that. My post isn't about whether you're pro-war or anti-war.
I'm thinking more about the general mindset Illy has. Somehow (and this still baffles me) calmer, more collected heads took control over a place on the internet. Weird, right? Players and alliances fight and quibble, but somehow we can still talk --and more importantly, act-- in that manner. "Poised" is the word that comes to mind. Fighting has always been sort of like a gentlemen's agreement.
With the changes taking place in Illy, both game mechanics from the devs and game politics from the players, I personally believe tensions will keep rising. Take your pick at what's producing or what will produce the most friction.
My point is, I'd like to keep the composed mindset of Illy. Especially if/when tensions rise to an unprecedented (for Illy) level.
Whatcha think?
