An obvious attempt to store more food than their storehouse/warehouse can handle on the market IMO. Fully agree that there is no way that is a proper deal and if not fiddling storage it will be an attempt to fiddle the their trade score. We should be able to mark deals like that as spam and if enough people (say 5 for arguments sake) mark it such it gets removed from the market and thrown back into the players city. Any extra above storage capacity would be wasted like normal then. Also spammed deals like that returned to a city should incur a points deduction from the players trade score to stop them doing it again.

Warehouse and storehouse together at level 20 gives you nearly 760,000 storage of each resource. The caravans can atmost give a total of 210K (if you need storage evenly, that comes down to ~42K of each basic resource). The difference it makes is very small. That is why we dont have hundreds of such spam trade offers in the market, even though there are many players whose storage overflow.
There is also a flipside to using all your caravans for storage. If your 70 caravans are storing 210K food at an unreasonable price and your warehouse is still overflowing, you might want to actually sell/send the food to someone. You have to cancel the existing trade to do that. When you cancel the trade, the excess is lost again and you are left with just as much as your warehouse can hold.
I think only newbies would find this excess storage useful (just to hide some excess iron or so for a short duration when a care package is on the way).
