this idea is pretty good. This is a good way for new players to have fun early in the game.
also we could make various tournaments for players under 5 000 pop: 100-500; 501- 1500; 1501-3000; 3001-5000... for exemple and we could have a tournament for each category every month.... if there is 1 tournament every 3 months, that's pointless.

I would recommend setting boundaries by city count rather than population. Population boundaries can be gamed far too easily.

Probs right there, okay i guess first we would have to decide what we would call a new player pr a "newb"

I do not agree with this premise of a player with high pop able to compete with noob players just because he has a town in the 500 pop or less range. Experience will play a factor. The high pop player can also send resources from other towns to his small pop town that will overwhelmingly destroy the competition.
It is not a shock that you would think of an idea such as this so you can exploit another way of possibly winning a tournament.
The only way your idea would work is if there is a total pop restriction and a town restriction included.
If higher pop players want to compete in this tourney, they should create their own and allow higher pop players in it with their own high total pop and town pop restrictions.

but you could do that with new people as well get this bigger person to give them tons of resources (totally ignoring the fact that if you are new all you have to do is ask for resources on GC and you get them)
so that dosnt really mean anything

This is the reason why there is not a tournament for new or lower ranked players. Each member of the community proposes a idea, which then get's gnawed down to nothing but it's faults. Which then leads to yet another idea to the newbie tournament.
The point is, there will always be people trying to cheat the system, you as a player or a Game Moderator can not control that. All the Dev's can do is set up the tournament boundary/population wise and hope for the best, you will always meet cheats so the best thing you can do is play the tournament to the best of your ability.

I agree with everything you said on here. When it comes to tournaments, this player base does rip apart a tournament idea until the rules fit them to the point that they will win the tournament.
I would much rather risk having a new player get resources from another player than have a vet player use a small town in a tournament.
You are right though, there will always be players and or alliances that will bend the rules so they can win.
So far in two tournaments, H? has done just that, bent the rules to favor themselves. I foresee more of the same from them.
I am not sure how much longer the community will allow H?'s tactics in future tournaments since the rest of the community is catching up. H? has been pretty good at upsetting one alliance each tournament and I am sure this will not change in the future ones.

LH, I don't know your background nor do I want to go into it. from what I have seen you seem to spam forum threads while others mock you. I was following along with your above statements until you started insulting H?. I am not sucking up to H? but if you want your opinions to be taken seriously you need to simply post your thoughts and try not to insult the other parties.
Now, let's get back to the subject matter.
