Frodyr Deheuol (FRO) is a new alliance founded in the Broken Lands. We welcome anyone who has settled in BL, particularly in the southern areas. As a new alliance we have no specific mission or goals, apart from enjoying the game and getting along with the neighbours. Please send an IGM to either Llannedd or Myrrddin (same real person) for an invitation or for additional info.

For those who might be wondering, Frodyr Deheuol is a (probably ungrammatical) Welsh translation of Southern Brethren.

Grammar is ok.  But you've mutated the first letter incorrectly - mutations only occur in the first letter of a following word, and as "Frodyr" is the first word, it should actually be "Brodyr".

So, it could either be "Brodyr Deheuol" (Southern/South Brothers/Brethren)

OR

Y Frodyr Deheuol (The Southern/South Brothers/Brethren).

For those [few] that are interested, this is an example of 'treiglad meddal' or soft mutation.

Happy recruiting LLannedd!

I just used Google Translate, so I know from experience that it's probably (somewhat) incorrect. But then again we use the Elvish dialect of Welsh, so it's ok after all Smile.

It's (one of many) wonderful features of the Celtic lingusitic demesne on both the Goidelic (eg Irish, Gaelic, Manx) and the Brythonic (eg Welsh, Breton, Cumbric) sides.

But... hell: This is exactly why I *love* the illy community.

Cilcain, sirrah, are you perchance located near Rhydymwyn?

Best,

SC

Good point.  Whoops, sorry Llannedd.  I was just, err... bumping your thread with the Welsh speakers!
