True and I know every game is different. Just on Atlantica it worked out great and then the game went south once the devs stopped posting in there. Ever Quest has a dev forum where developers talk with players about upcoming releases, I believe WoW has a section for this sort of thing, and so on.

Its just a fun little place where players can feel that the game is taking bigger steps. Its sort of like the announcements section we have here, but with a little more updates. Its also a place where the developers can feel like their work is appreciated.

There is usually information about releases posted in the announcements forum, and people discuss bugs or other issues there.  That seems to be working pretty well.

Do not want to say much because you want the updates to be something new, not feel like they were supposed to be here and are not.

I'd think something along the lines of... We are working on this, we would like your opinion on this, and we have not started on this but are going to work on it in a later update.

For example: Currently Team Raptor is working on new spell towers for the next patch. They have a long way to go but you can look forward to new attack/defensive spells in the next coming updates. So if there are any bugs that you have noticed for magic please reply below.
Team Crows are working on trade version 2, but for now that is all we wish to say.


Then in that same section of the forums you can have a place for...

Update 2/22/12- Spell Towers
Just released the new spell towers please responded here with any feedback, concerns or issues  that you have gotten as a result of the update.

SC: Working on news spells school. The new spells and how many.
TC: Working on the travel cost for different type of terrain.
Art team: 3d models of ???

In reality I have no clue. I have never worked on developing a game Cool

I know this post wasn't directed at me, but I'd like to know what they are working on as well. Not everything, because some of the things should be a surprise and not told. Just some of the known things they are working on and the progress they have made so far. Like any set backs, or complications they are having. That way we can see all hard work they are really putting into the game.  Like the way Atlantica used to have their dev forum topic before they got all corporate and stopped talking to the players.
