Traders going missing without any notification of what happened is not a feature, no. It would be a silly feature if it were. ;)

It is either a feature or a bug. It has happened to others before.
It's a shame when a GM replies they don't say if it is a feature or a bug. If it is a feature, no one would enter useless petitions anymore. If it is a bug and someone sees that a petition has been filed, people wouldn't enter another petition on the same topic and fill the petition system.
A reply either way would be very helpful.

It looks that way. I wish one of the many topics I've read on trading would have mentioned this, and the fact that your city still gets charged the 30 g/ph for the dead trader.

Teets, you'll need Procurement if you want to place buy orders and Selling if you want to place sell orders. Also, don't worry about reseaching traders luxuries and such as they don't work yet. I thought the traders died if you didn't have factions market?

No
where in the link you posted does it state that I cannot send a trader
to a hub without Fraction Markets research. No where....... It
does state that to start trading at a hub that I will need Fraction
Markets researched which was under way as I attempted to send my trader
to the hub No where in the link you posted does it say that my
trader will disappear if I attempt to send it to a hub without Fraction
Markets researched, nor does it state that I will be charged the 30 g/ph
for a missing trader. I don't have Procurement or Selling
researched yet either. Does that mean that my next trader will disappear
if I attemp to send it to a hub? If so then maybe these warnings should
have been included in the topic.

Then what will work? My city of Oconomowoc is losing 30 g/ph for a trader that I do not have?

It isn't necessary to repeat the contents of a petition on the forums in hopes it will get more attention. It doesn't really work that way.

As a matter of fact, yes. GM Luna wrote this post called Trading For Dummies (it's featured quite prominently in the Help section of the forum; I don't see how you could have missed it):
It quite clearly states that Faction Markets is a required research.
