Hi all,

As many of you know, we experienced our own little version of a global financial crisis just after midnight last night.

The underlying cause of the marketplace meltdown has been identified and fixed, and we do have logs of what was there before the meltdown occurred.

However, we have received petitions about this and we're well aware that - especially given the market price changes due to the current war - many of you would not appreciate your "lost" trade orders simply re-appearing back on the market at the prices you had originally set, because it's likely that prices have changed on many items and you don't want to 'lose out' on what you could have made had you been able to cancel and re-add the trade orders.

Add to that that the logs of the "lost" trade orders are not in a format whereby we can easily recreate the market as it was, and so - for these two reasons - we're asking for players who are missing trade orders to do the following:

1. Whilst logged into Illyriad from the account that is missing a trade order,
3. Open a Support ticket entitled "Missing trade"
4. In this petition, detail the following:
 i) The town the trade was from (Town Name)
ii) Whether the trade order was "Sell" (ie selling x Wood for y gold) or "Buy" (ie buying x Wood for y gold)
iii) The item (Wood, Swords etc) the trade was for
iv) The quantity that was being bought or sold
 v) Whether you would like us to add this trade back onto the market, or instead, whether you would like us to return this item to your town's inventory (but you must ensure you have sufficient room to store it *before* you petition, if you want it return to your town's inventory!). You can simply type "Market" or "Town" here
vi) The total amount of gold it was being bought or sold for
vii) If it was a sell order, how many caravans were tasked to support the order (in the case of a buy order, it's obviously only one caravan)

You will need to supply this information for *each* missing order.  You can skip question vi) if you say "Town" to question v).

An example:  If King Sigurd had lost a buy order for 100 clay where he was offering 100 gold and he wanted this put back on the market, he would open a Petition as follows:

Petition Subject: Missing trade
Petition Body:
i) The Winter Palace
ii) Buy
iii) Clay
iv) 100
v) Market
vi) 100
vii) [blank]

Another example:  If King Sigurd had lost a sell order for 120 swords where he was asking a total of 10000 gold, and he wanted this returned to his town, he would open a Petition as follows:

Petition Subject: Missing trade
Petition Body:
i) The Winter Palace
ii) Sell
iii) Swords
iv) 120
v) Town
vi) [blank]
vii) 1

We will then use the information you have supplied to track down the transaction log data relating to the "lost" trade and will confirm that the details are correct according to the logs.  We will then either put the trade back on the market or in your town, depending on what you have indicated in response to question v)

We are, of course, appallingly apologetic for this issue.  The underlying cause has been identified and fixed, and it shouldn't happen again.  We're also incredibly sorry that it requires some work at your end to work out what you're missing.

We would also highly encourage people not to inflate the numbers - we will be checking against the transaction logs, and if we find claim inflation we will deny the entire claim.

Processing the claims may take a while as we query the logs on a case-by-case basis.  Please bear with us.

For any players who have built new (replacement) caravans to those "lost" since midnight last night, we will be unable to return the goods to the market as this will potentially give you more than your maximum allocation of caravans, and we will have to return the missing orders to your town instead.

Please also put as many of your claims into one petition as possible!

Again, many apologies.

Regards,
The Team at Illyriad

Huh... I just noticed 4 of my trades went missing with their caravans from 1 city last night - now I have 63/70 caravans there. I probably wouldn't even have noticed without this announcement though.

Though I'm pretty certain I didn't lose anything particularly valuable (at least to an old account) - no more than 1-2M worth of goods.

I prefer not to waste the devs time reclaiming these to be honest - because I want to see city relocation and other changes as soon as possible.

I hope other people who didn't actually lose all that much will take the same approach.

I probably had around 30 open sell and buy orders over all my cities on my two accounts and I honestly don't remember all of them, or the exact amounts offered on buy orders.

Is there anything you can do for me? I realize that going through the logs will take you a lot of time and if you're willing to share them I'd be happy to go through the logs myself, assuming the format is somewhat understandable.

Sarah321 was indeed perma-banned from Illyriad.

Sarah321's forum account has now been suspended and posts removed.

Is there a way that you can send out a mass mail to all players directing them to this post? I don't get on GC or the forums very often, and I was lucky to find this thread. Either way, thank you for your efforts.

This may be a bit overdue, but I would like to thank you for your swiftness in your response. I will also take this opportunity to commend you on all your hard work that you are putting in this and like I said before I'm looking forward for the improvements that will be brought to Illy in the next months/years to come.

Kudos to you, dev team!

Regards,

Vec

I want to echo this, thanks very much for all the hard work, and for my goods back safe and sound. My cows were especially happy to return home hale and hearty.
