Topic: Market question Posted: 21 Aug 2012 at 13:18 |
|
So I made a proposal on the idea a few days ago but there are a lot of things I simply don't know about the market at this time. So I decided to pose a question here to find out the information instead.
So mostly I wanted to know whether or not there is a way to buy items from the hub and have said items shipped to the hub as compared to it going to the town?

If you buy goods from a hub where you have a trader, you can have the goods remain at the hub and be put into your inventory there. You could then choose to resell them at the hub, or transport them to one of your towns.

Appreciate the reply. So I can place a buy order but when I buy directly from the market itself of an existing order it seems I am not able to get those sent there unless I am doing something wrong.

If you have a trader in the hub that you accepted the sell or buy order from, you'll see this option.

Though apologize for my somewhat late reply.
Mostly I meant using my resources (gold) at the hub to buy other goods on the market (cities or other hubs). Sadly I don't think the option is there or I am still doing things wrong :/

You can buy goods on an hub, using gold stored in the same hub. You can sell goods in an hub and have golds stored in the hub. To my knowledge you cannot buy good from a city and have them sent to an hub directly from the seller and I think you cannot use your hub gold to buy from another player city.

But you can buy goods from a hub and have them just stay in that hub. I do it all the time, but you need a trader in the hub to do it. I highly doubt you could do player to hub but I've never tried.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so you will not be dependent on anybody.

Ya its kind of disappointing. I think really I would just like more vans as the hub does little good for me... its good for stockpiling and a good place to sell from but then I have a ton of my vans there so I can't actually get resources from there unless I send a lot of my vans back. The hubs have some nice benefits but mostly have been a disappointment. I am not able to use them as a central location to do most of my business but rather I have to do my business from both the hub and towns which if I buy from towns I am limited by 210,000 - (3000*X)... X being how many vans are currently at the hub. At least if it was all done through the hub I can use more towns vans to move resources back as needed but still comes with a 2 hr travel time.

When town trade visibility becomes limited, majority of trade will be done trough hubs. The lower tax and unlimited storage are just too good. I think that global visibility is the only thing keeping town sell orders alive.
