Alright, first off, I'm sure it's been discussed before, but I didn't see it when I did a brief look through, so I thought I'd bring it up. What about a click and drag system for scrolling the world map? There are several other games that have this feature, so I'm assuming it wouldn't be too terribly hard to introduce. The Pro's of this addition, as I see it, would be that there is a quicker way to maneuver around the map. THe benefits of having this ability would be an easier way to find things that a player was looking for (resource nodes, specific terrain on which to build cities, etc) or even just to have fun looking around the world that has been designed for us.

Those who agree, or oppose, please feel free to comment and add your two cents. I'm human, so if you have something to add, that you believe I've missed, put it up!

the only  difficulty I can   see is that whenever you click a spot on
the map it gives you a menu of all the things you can do with it
I'm not sure how you could  work around that...

but  yes  it  is  a good idea

Click vs drag is easy to do.
I don't think the current method makes map-dragging practical, but perhaps the planned improvements to the map would allow it (soon TM).

I'm pretty sure you aren't going to see a drag-scroll map feature soon(tm). It would require java or something which the dev team aren't using to make the game more accessible.

I would like to see a downloadable map/image-pack to make loading things up faster. Mostly I have to reload every image every time I log in, hard-disk space is tight for me and I can't afford to have a limitless cache.

Interesting point. I hadn't thought of this before, but yes you're right that could cause a problem with users. Thank you for pointing this out!

I think there is draggable world map in the dev list already by the way.
