Topic: Main: Circle of Five Denies Experiments Posted: 05 Jul 2012 at 01:03 |
Circle of Five Denies Experiments
The Illyriad Herald today confronted Geomancer Herrolf of the Circle of Five. Pursuing recent rumours of secret experiments by the Circle on captive Undead and Elementals, our investigative journalists demanded that Herrolf provide an explanation.
"I don't know who told you", the Geomancer growled in response to our questions, "but none of it's true, whatever they said. And if you write about it, I will find interesting ways to break all your fingers - that should stop you writing about me. And anyway, if it were true, it would be perfectly safe. Nothing could possibly go wrong."

I wonder if this plus the tech pictures from the Facebook page mean that new magic schools are coming soon like abjuration, necromancy or heliomancy...

Usually Circle of Five experiments are associated with unpleasant geographic and/or climactic disturbances. See for example the Rift and the Great Marsh of Fyrgis.
From the faction summary:
"Each member of the circle is surely a foe to be reckoned with individually, but it is when they combine their powers that little can stand in their way. The most apt illustration of their destructive potential is clearly visible in the very existence of the cursed Great Marsh of Fyrgis in Wolgast - created as a direct result of their assistance to King Lentas of Illyria during the purging of the Barbarian threat. "
There are a number of 0-food regions throughout Elgea ... any of them could be the site of the Circle of Five's next "creative mishap."

Every body pull up your bootstraps and get ready! Looks like more fun may be on the very near horizon. I for one cannot wait.

The "weird weather" note on page 2 is repeated on page 6; it was the introduction of the beating HoC in April. The "mana up-build" on page 2 is repeated on page 8; it was the introduction of tournament IV in December. I don't think that this is some kind of clue...

When the Circle of Five start playing around, it can only mean one thing..... "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" I fear there will be another outbreak of Dev-orchestrated mayhem. Muhahah!!!!
