ORDER OF ALLEMBINE TO INVESTIGATE LINEAGE OF THE ROYAL HOUSE

Historians from the Order of Allembine are seeking to clarify several distant details in the family tree of our beloved King Sigurd.

At the foundation of the current dynasty, some 800 years ago, it is known that statues were erected across Illyria to the first King's two Grandfathers and 18 Great Uncles, all of whom carried arms in the struggle to establish the dynasty. However, the Order of Allembine at that stage had more urgent duties than the recording of the Royal Family's predecessors, and so no written records were made.

The Order now invites all lords and ladies holding settlements in Illyria to assist with their research. Rulers wishing to assist might start by considering the statues of the King's antecedents, which can be seen scattered about the lands.

The Order are hoping to confirm, from multiple sources, the names and any life details of these 20 royal forbears.

The Order seeks evidence and worn testimony, not rumour and hearsay, so rulers must provide both the names and sworn verbal testimony as to how the names were gathered - for example, the Order will want to know that a settlement's diplomats have personally visited a site which offers evidence; it is not enough to have heard a rumour from another ruler or another settlement.

Dear Astor, dear friend,

I write to you cause I’m confused right now. Some recents events that occured in the Illyriad world and to see them together seems strange to me.

The last one is the Order of Allembine, this Order whom dedicate itself ro record histories and chronicles of our world since the year one that they have created, this society finally think that it’s about time, after 800 years to clarify several distant details in the family tree of our King.

Isn’t that strange that they haven’t done that before? I mean kings are crowned by the order’s Abbots. Ain’t they recording such important events organized by themself? So why now?

I’ve though about it and considering the fact that since some month the reputation of the Crown is falling deeper and deeper it could be a way for him to stabylise it.

But there are more.

What are the last actions of our King?

He initiate a series of tournaments.

The first one was about take and hold some “strategic” positions. And all the alliances of the kingdom sent an enormous amont of men to death. For what? Is there any reward? Yes indeed: Glory and some military units from the elite of our King’s army.

The second tournament was about slaugter hordes of animals all around the world. Again, thousands of men from all alliances won’t come back from this... Game? But Tinuviel’s voice had already said it better than me.

Again, Our dear king reward us with men taken from his elite.

And now?

Now we’re all helping the Order of Allembine to discover something they should already know. And we all do this. And we’re all happy to help cause it’s what we are: helpfull people. And we’re all happy to see the Order of Allembine thankfull to us, sending their scribe in every city of Illyriad to help us.

But what are those scribes again?

An highly trained specialist whom can help me to counter ennemy spies.

Remember the first rule of the Order: Obedience. Obedience to the abbots, obedience to the rule, obedience to god and so to the King. I quote the Preface to the Rules Of The Order of Allembine, anon: “Our continued service, in obedience, charity and faithfulness, shall pave the way for the kings of Illyria, for the good of all humans and of all races.”

You can see it now my friend.

All the things done by our King is just about filling our rank with Highly trained military and highly trained spies. I wonder where goes the loyalty of those men...

So please Astor, could you keep an eyes on them and report me if it’s safe to keep them in our wall or if we’d better tell them to go back home?

Regards,

Capricorne d’Alpage.

I personally think that there is one villain in Illy.... King Sigurd.
The reasons for this are varied, but in a while (not right now, by a long shot) I will post the fictional version on my story.

It is not the loyalty of the (so-called) Kings men that bothers me, but more their abilities.

A number of his elite soldiers came to serve in my capital, as reward for a large shipment of animal parts and I have watched these men closely.

In the training grounds, these men fight with an agression and agility that can rarely be matched by my greatest commanders.  Yet above this I have been shocked by the speed at which they can move.  They seem to glide across battle grounds with the speed of the wind.

These 'men' dressed in armour, can out run some of my finest cavalry, infact it is only my mounted commanders that have been able to keep up with them in a race.

Such speed and agility reminds me of stories I was told as a child, stories that my Grandfather told me of magical creatures called the Fae.

Could it be that this so called 'King of Illyriad' shares lineage with these creatures, or that his men of science have discovered the secrets of their magic.

Don't tell anyone but that's why we infiltraded the ranks of Sigurd's army. The blind King can't even see past his wife cleavage... Together we shall overthrow the pretender and create a new Kingdom, one where true Men rule, Dwarfs craft, Orcs hunt and Elfs do whatever it is they do...

So basically, the humans rule and all the other races are treated as slaves and do all the work? I'm sure that'll go over well...
