Well... I think in the Newspaper he likes to address us as Lords and Ladies...
=>  +1 KP

But like in the real middle ages, he actually only does tournaments and asks for help against undead invasions Tongue

The jurisdication within the cities, inter alliance wars etc. is totally in control of the lords. Maybe he even only is king by consensus, as we chose to accept him as a spokesperson while dividing the lands of Elgea between us.

Oh, yes, and because he has mammoths Wink

I am a king. My people don't recognize Sigurd's authority.

Sigurd is no king, but a pawn of the Council of Illyria!

Illyriad has no king!  Illyriad needs no king!

As for us, we are freeholders representing the citizenry of our settlements, who serve at the will of our pixels.

Or something.

So, repeating a question I asked in GC, figured I'd ask it here for further discussion or insight.

Players can have up to 10 Major Cities, which to me would constitute a Kingdom (or you would think).

However, the whole of the Illyriad Map seems to be referred to as a Kingdom, and we nominally have a King. King Sigurd, while obviously not a player, but a dev construct, he's still referred to as the King of Illyriad.

So what does that make the Player? If Illyriad as a whole is a Kingdom, and King Sigurd rules it, then what are our collections of Cities, and in turn what are we, the Player, considered to be in Lore?

(Personally, I had always thought that Sigurd would have been an Emperor, and the players would be Kings)
