well, activating it gives out "corrupted tentacles"... what to use them for, or whether we should give them to orcs to stew them, remains a mistery.

Well it would be nice to know just how much troops/upkeep/attck is required to activate the HOC.  But so far it still doesn't appear that activating it does anything.  Either way sent another 1k scouts.

It would be hard to do the test as

a) you don't how much "damage" or "attack points" is required for each tile ( assuming each take exactly the same ammount, which could be easier but not necesarily true)

b) you don't know if other diplo attacks are landing (since likely you are far from it and have to deal with fog of war for diplo)... so you can't tell if the "growth" was only from your group, or others moved in.    Unless you have a very nearby town ( with great diplo sight range) or a camped army nearby with diplo units..

Even then, you would be clueless on what's hitting it while you are "meassuring" your diplo hits..

This will likely not be accurate by no means but... could we make an online spreadsheet to know what we are feeding it with? Maybe that way we could get a bit "more accurate" estimation of the required ammount of troops/diplos to advance in each stage.. and maybe even pour some light on whether its based on "men count", "experience/upkeep" or "attack points"

I remember seeing that calculation - it looked legit but not sure if anyone actually tested it to prove it out.

I have a town quite near by ( under 80 squares ), but I am only a middle-sized player and could only send smaller ammounts, especially diplo-units, just need a week to lvl up the paddock and stuff...

But would be fun to probe into that mystery :)

I have no objections to placing my 10th city on the opposite side of the map. Can't do it all by myself though. 

I appear to have made her bigger! I think she likes elfy assassins :)

I support this idea in general, but I wish we knew more about what feeding Audrey does ... if it really does anything at all.  I know in the past that Audrey has "come alive" after people have made efforts to feed her, but I wonder if that really had anything to do with it ... or whether it's related to something else entirely.

Or whether there are some things that are more effective than others ... I mean ... won't we all feel silly if we come to find out that she can only digest elves?

Seriously, I think it would be interesting if a group "scientifically" studied Audrey, put her on a controlled feeding program and monitored the results.  it seems like it would be a lot more efficient to do for someone who is closer than Auraya and I are, though.

I've been talking a fair bit about creating a group whose main purpose is to feed Audrey. I know we all have our own military aims etc but they don't have to be particularly expensive troops.. so how about dedicating a village to the noble cause of raising sacrifices? xD
